You can use any injectors you want. The ones you have will be perfectly fine.

The MSPNP will have built in peak and hold drivers. It will support high and low impedance injectors and uses current sensing to tell which one you are using so you do not need to configure it in software. Let me know if you'd like me to put you down for an OBD1 or OBD2 model.

Man, that is a great feature I didn't expect to be included. I have a partially completed MS3X sitting here on the bench, but I may just talk myself into getting in on this group buy even though I was planning Hi-Z injectors. Lol

What has to be done about coil drivers, are they included in the box of tricks?

Can someone suggest what I should start reading to get a grip on basic engine tuning?

I bought this one years ago.

    https://www.amazon.com/Engine-Manage.../dp/1932494421

It has some good info in it but honestly you would be better off just reading the tuning manuals in the megasquirt documentation.

    http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/html/...ual_1.4.1.html

    I promise you know more about tuning than you think you do. Once all the basic configuration is set up the only thing you really need to tune to make the car run is;

    The VE table,
Acceleration enrichments, (takes a few minutes of street tuning)
timing table (just steal one from someone else till you can go to the dyno)
cranking pulse widths (just play with them till the car starts reliably at different temps)
idle valve settings (defaults will probably work fine)
warmup enrichment (defaults will probably work fine)

Once you are satisfied with how everything is working you can start to add the extra stuff like boost control, flex fuel ect...

looks like the tuning forum is overrun with crap posts. You could post questions in there or in here too. Im sure you aren't the only one who will have the question.

Yep! You're looking at a complete, turn-key package. The MSPNP Pro package will come with everything you need to plug, connect to a laptop, and start tuning. There will be a couple extra cost add on options for those who want to use outputs and sensors a stock BMW wouldn't use - boost control solenoid, wideband O2 sensor, and some special sensor and data acquisition packages like our 8 thermocouple EGT module. But the rule will be that items are only optional if they are not required for installation on a stock example. So coil drivers will be built into the ECU since the stock BMW coils need them. We will be using genuine Bosch Semiconductor coil drivers like the stock engine management uses (although I'm not 100% sure we will be using the exact same part).

If I wasn't already waiting for two group buys to finish I would be all over this. Will this be compatible with e85 fuel via optional sensor?

I would assume the "add on sensors" he was referring to would also include a flex fuel sensor.

My question is with the CAN lines connected can we have the computer communicate with the ABS module to get wheel speeds for launch control and traction control??

I don't think there's any CAN communications on an E36. Plus, I'm not sure, but I don't think MS uses wheel speed for TC. I think it uses vehicle speed, RPM and gear ratios along with some algorithms for traction control.

I'm OBD2 and those for sure have a CAN network. I even wired up my CAN High and CAN Low wires. It does look like Tuner Studio's has the capability of doing what I want

I didn't think the E36 had CAN communication either. Its possible it has a very basic network between a few modules. The last post indicates the E36 does have some CAN so now I am curious.

After looking at the Data wires more and the CAN network wires. The CAN network is for the Automatic transmissions and the rest is ISO on OBD2. So yes it has CAN but it's not as integrated as I'd hoped.
