Same laptop I have haha. I paid $50, got a battery and an SSD and it actually runs pretty well. It's also pretty durable.

Yeah I use a D830 that I got years ago for like $100 and put a $30 ssd in it. I have dropped it off the roof of the car onto the floor numerous times.

And real FTDI cables are all around the same price anyway, so $5-10 more doesn't really break the bank.

Stay far, far away from Prolific cables and you'll be doing just fine.

True. I was just posting up an explination. The true FTDI cables always work and arent super duper expensive. The knockoff Prolific ones are nothing but problems and a waste of money.

Had a couple deposits come in over the weekend; not all had screen names on them. If I haven't added you to the list, please PM me with the name on the order.

More prototyping. I've got some minor fitment issues to address with the case, while this circuit board is headed to on-car testing.

Too early at this point. The OBD2 group buy will open as soon as we have handed off the OBD1 units to the production department.

Matt. I may have to be removed from the obd2 list. Our province came out with more red tape laws for emissions testing for obd2 and I now have no way of getting it past. They no longer allow tail pipe sniffer test on obd2 cars now. Needs to be plugged in and ecu vin has to match the chassis vin... screwed :

That absolutely sucks! I guess I dodged that one. I moved from Ottawa to Vancouver just before they started the whole emissions testing thing in Ontario. I did have to put up with it here for about 12 years, but it's gone here now.

What about moving all your parts over to a 95 or older OBD1 chassis? I know that'd be a royal pain in the ass, but would it help you get back to a tailpipe test?

Remember these are PNP so taking it out, installing your factory DME , pass emissions, then squirt again.

Dam Luckey you. I was thinking of registering it an adress north of arnprior to get out of the emissions zone but heard they may make it all of ontario not just the 401corridor.

Butters- it was going in a e46 chassis with a m52 swap so no dice.

This week, we'll be dyno tuning an M3 on the prototype I posted a picture of earlier. We have the car starting up and running on the MSPNP right now.
