So this GB is happening now for OBD1&2 or just OBD1. If it's just 1 that's not right

    Both, obd2 has priority

Are any others planning on running this PNP setup in an E30? Wondering if I'll need to do any extra wiring since my M50 isn't in an E36 chassis.
Check out the ALS documentation here. You can do anything from rotating fuel cut to opening a solenoid for secondary outputs.

If you're using an off the shelf conversion harness for running an M50 on the stock ECU in an E30, there shouldn't be any issues.

i have an obd1 converted S52. I could go either way (obd1 or 2), but would rather not have to buy a new harness, and sensors to convert back to obd2..UNLESS its better.

    Any thoughts?

    Jay
Just get the one that matches your current wiring harness. The factory harnesses have roughly the same set of connections (just on different pins and sometimes with different sensor types). There will be an extra connector on the back for additional I/O.

Would the price In the first post include a turbo base tune? I want to go standalone for the extra features but would need a base tune to build off of. Also does ms3 have lean detection?

Yes it has an AFR safety system. Dburt86 should be able to get you a base tune.

Wish I can help more but I'm pretty sure I'm the only car on MS turbo m5x running a MAF which is a bit more tricky to tune/setup for first timers! But if anyone wants to take the plunge, feel free to shoot me a PM!

The time will be based off "your" injectors and your fuel. So, I don't think they can spit those out. But, there are enough knowledge here (someguy2800, e30kid, dburt, 5nails etc etc) you won't have a problem.
Megasquirt will probably come with a base tune for a stock car. But this is good, it deals with crap like ICV and whatnot.
The smart guys will help you with a safe timing map, and fueling VE based isn't like the old days. You will be fine.

Just figured them might be a 60lb 91 octane tune since that is pretty standard. I'm mostly just looking at it for the extra features. I would still probably want someone else to tune it for me

I will probably also have some one else put me in the ballpark before I start messing around with tuning my self as well.

I think the strength of this set up is the ability to failsafe for any parameter you want and all of them at once.

Once you actually start messing with your own tune a bit it will all make sense and you'll be able to make whatever adjustments you want.

The timing map is the most difficult and there are plenty of base maps posted. There is a thread with them if you search.

fueling is as easy as entering the injector parameters and the new req_fuel value. That will get you most of the way there.

Once you have the base settings figured out (trigger patterns, tooth angles, dwell times, ect) which the base tune will have, the rest is very straight forward. Scale the injectors, calibrate to what wideband you have, ect and it will run fine.

The next "hurtle" is the timing. Do some reading, get some help, ect. Typically with these cars, ill leave the timing 10 degrees across the whole map in boost for the first dyno pull, assuming it has a reasonable wastegate spring in it. If ive done a very similar setup i may have a little ramp in there already because ill have an idea of where it will end up.

Mister Automatic has no mods to do anymore, and Mr Automatic surely could use antilag. Especially with his idea of a 7675 in the future.
