My 2009 M3 is having trouble with the left paddle shift. It will work very selectively. Most of the time it doesn't work at all when it does it doesn't seem to work long.
I have taken the steering wheel apart and switched the paddles wiring, both paddles work fine. I have also bought new buttons (what the paddles plug into inside the steering wheel) to see if those were the problem, they were not.
At this point, the problem has to be past the steering wheel right? Any ideas?

does the selector in the dash work to downshift without issue/hesitation?
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?
yes, works fine in the dash every time.

Hi @malibu73
Did you manage to resolve this and what was the solution? I am curious as my downshift wasn’t working then both. Will start it in the morning and it works for 2 downshifts then it dead again.
apprecaite your advice in advance
