    Avus Blau, E36/5, V8, A New Start

    Back in November, 2015, i was involved in an accident with an elderly who chose to overtake 3 lanes thus smashing into my old car. I had planned to just fix the chassis but found a very nice Avus blau 318ti at the edge of Indiana/Michigan. Picked it up, missing the head and most other top engine components. Brought it back to Toledo, Ohio and it sat until last month. About 10 hours worth of labor and i swapped in my old drivetrain to my new chassis.

    I usually don't like the Ti, but...

    Who am I kidding... this thing is gnarly, and congratulations to you for sticking with your build(s) for so long, seeing them through, and doing it better each time. Don't forget about us at lil ol 318ti forums

    In pic 9, of the cumbustin chamber, there are 3 gouges on the inner deck and combustion chamber, please tell me they fixed that???

    The knicks were superficial. Something was in the cylinder at some point. I replaced the cranks, rods, pistons, and the machinist was able to rework the 853s

    I didn't want to see this die. I try to follow through with most projects I start. This one just kept having major issues that set me back and onto another set of rails. ive learned a lot though. Ill contemplate the org

    Congrats on keeping your swap living in another car. Gives me motivation to get mine done. Been waiting to long to take it for a drive and hear the big ole cam I put in it.

    Tony, what'd you wind up using for mounts/headers/etc? Starting to miss the TI chassis. Found one with a blown engine for $400 locally that's REALLY temping me.
