I am sorry if some of you frequent other forums and have seen this before, but I am in need of help, so I am having to post in multiple places.

.... this is a little long.

-----------------------------------------------
First, let me say thanks to all for the knowledge that is accessible here. It has helped me to retrofit and code the Bluetooth kit, Sirius and IBOC/HDRadio modules in my newly acquired MINI R56.

So, here's the backstory, bear with me here.... If you don't want to read skip down to the ------------------

I have an '06 R53 that I bought new. It had all the options that I wanted at the time, so I never got into coding; just mods, repairs, etc., so I'm fairly familiar with MINIs in general by doing all kinds of mechanical work. I actually worked part time in a performance shop. But I digress.
A few months ago, I was presented with a deal on an '07 R56 S with a blown engine. I bought it and have been rebuilding, updating, etc.

------------------------------------------------
Here is where I am at and what is relevant to this forum.
I retrofitted the modules mentioned above and have them all working. No problems.
The problem that I am having now is the HK amp isn't outputting sound.

I know that this is a touchy subject as the wiring harness isn't there with the car not having the HiFi already. I'm ambitious, so that's why I'm here looking for help.

What I have done so far.... first, I updated the VO in CAS/FRM to $674, and defaulted CAS FRM RAD2.
Do I need to remove any option codes?
I have ran all 8 wires from the HU back to the amp. Then all 8 back to the front and tied into the existing speaker leads. (I know not optimal, but...)
To get switched power to the amp, I tapped onto F6 in the JBE (A4010 fuse block), passenger side foot well.
I have also tied into the CAN bus by piggy-backing onto pins 45 and 46 on the FRM/footwell module; driver's side. This goes to pins 18 and 19 on the HK amp. This, as I understand, is where the "control" of the amp comes in. Correct me if I am wrong.
I know that there is signal(sound) getting back to the amp. I know that it seems to be turning on, but that's it.
Do I get the CAN link somewhere else? The only other place that I can find in the Bentley book is pins 13 and 26 (or 5 and 6, for the other side of the instruments) on the JBE itself.
The only other thing that I can think of is to update the software version on the RAD2 (or other) module. How would I go about doing that? WinKFP? Other? Would it be better to get an updated/newer radio HU from an '09+ model?

Help?!?!

Thanks!
-----------------------------------------------
Can someone confirm their VO option list for me? I think I may have stumbled upon something. Do you have $6FC or $6FD in for the radio option. This is if you have HiFi, or HK. Either setup should have one or the other. I think.
-----------------------------------------------
I think I may have found the issue.
Unbeknownst to me, the radio is not original.
This is what's pulled from INPA, etc. : 63 MASK/CCC OKAY 3455263 TU67411 20.08.2009

I can't get it to accept an update in WinKFP because is says it's not in the manufacture data. What doesn't make sense is that the last 7 show it being in a June of '08 build R56. I have the latest daten that I could find, v53.3, Aug of '14.
Do I need to downgrade my daten files to be able to handle the older rad/cc/mask module? Does anyone know of a way to overwrite the Boost radio with another ZUSB file?
------------------------------------------------
OK, I was able to get the radio to accept a ZUSB update. It went from 3455263 to 3456337.
It still shows as MASK/CCC tough.
More info.... I was able to lookup the VIN and the car it came from was equipped with the HiFi system. It should have worked from the beginning (unless I just don't understand this at all).

Also, the output from INPA (complete) is here:

I have updated the AMP, SPEG and MRS, so they all match. This also confirms that the system is seeing the amp.
I'm working on getting the ISPB updated as soon as I can find the ZUSB from the E60 datens. Surprisingly it works as-is and did from the beginning of all this.

Does no one have any ideas or things to try?

My next step...... I have ordered another Boost radio from a breaker's yard, so hopefully I can get this to work. Its part number is: 65123455539 and should fall into the year range that the HK was offered. At least it should.

One last question. What should the MINI Boost radio show up as in the UIF pull? RAD2/2RAD?[/B]
