Hi. I just got my car back from the paintshop due to an accident a couple of months ago. The car is jet black 668/9 Schwarz II, both according to the VIN-number and also the "sticker" on the drivers door. The repainted parts however does not look black, they look more grey. I've checked the paint at another paintshow, they tested the paint on a non-repainted surface, and got the value 3 compared to 668, and said the lower, the better. They then tested the repainted surfaces and got the value 10 using this "paint-camera", not sure what its called, and it said that the new paint would most likely not match. What could have happend here? Ill post some pics aswell.
the rear bumper (left) was not repainted, and the fender was repainted. Dont mind the polishing, Im not happy with that either.

Need better pictures. Natural light works best.
The bumper and rear quarter panel/(fender??) look ok. The doors don't appear to match well???????
Oh, and your tires need to be cleaned.
That is not a match, not by a long shot. Why did you accept the car back from the paint shop? A blind person would see the color difference. A possibility the color is correct, but the clearcoat was cloudy/contaminated?

I picked the car up when it was dark and cloudy outside, so the paint looked black and good to the eye. I brought the car back to the paintshop and took a technician with me from the insurance company (I got hit and the insurance company pays for the damage). The technician guessed that the paintlayer aint thick enough so the grey is the primer that can be seen through the paint. They offered to paint the whole side, rear panel, rear door, front door, front fender and the skirt as compensation. The paintshop is going to have a technician from the paint manufacturer, cant remember the name but it was something like steis *****, not glasurit, and have him measure and mix the paint so it will match.
Hopefully it will work out okay, so a mod can close the thread.
I know the tires are dirty as hell, but i got the car back yesterday and didnt want to touch anything before showing the car for the technician, I will take care of the wheels tonight
Thanks for the help
Smart move taking the insurance company technician with you. I'm sure this will give you the results you can be happy with. Good Luck on final finish.
