I ordered one of these...

Just confirmed this one works on e38 as well...
I don't know if anybody still needs that information, but I happened to have the same issue after replacing my LCM III with a LCM IIIb.
So I tried to get the coding done by adding the LCM.C19 entry inside the E38SGET.000 file and copying the LCM.C19 file from the E39 folder (just as TerraPhantm suggested).
That didn't work for me either in the first place. So I did some changes in the "Coding"-section of my NCS profile and ended up removing the checkmark at "ZCSUT processing active".
That made it work for me, but I have to admit that I don't have much experience with NCS so far and I can't tell if this will make it work for everyboy else.
Reviving an old thread here once again. Hopefully Terra can chime in and help. Since a picture is worth a thousand words as they say, here are some pictures of the actual setup. I don't know how to attach files in order to share the bin files for examination.
The chip on this unit is the MC9S12DG256B. I managed to read both EEPROM and Full Flash saved on my computer.
As you can see this LWR is from a 2003 E53. I doubt that it is compatible with the e38 as it's part number is not consistent with the confirmed working versions others have succesfully used. What I am trying to determine is what makes it different. Is it software or hardware? Can this chip just be flashed with the appropriate firmware and then coded with NCS Expert? This is a HW06 SW5.3 LCM IV W/MANUAL.LWR
