Some of my black plastic dash trim is faded. Cleaners and conditioners are not restoring the color. Has anyone dyed or painted their plastic dash trim, but did not use an aerosol? I'm hesitating using a spray paint because I want to keep the paint thin and maintain the texture of the plastic piece.
I bought some Ritt fabric dye because it says that it will stain vinyl. It looks great going on but it dries dull and if you don't blotch it on it will show streaks.
Or am I over-thinking it and just need a "Back to Black" product?

Thanks. I did not come across that one when I searched. Good info. It's really just my glove box that is faded so I may try to spray it and hope the colors are close.

Eastwood's Plastic Restorer? Does awesome on sun bleached black exterior parts like grilles and cowl covers. Pricey, but flows out nicely, in multiple coats.
