Micro Power Module - Still no iDrive screen / HUD

    Hello,

I recently picked up a 2005 E60 and I think it is a great car. I am jumping up from a 1998 E39 which I still own and love.

I car had a dead heads up display / iDrive and after reading forms and other researching, I found that the Micro Power Module was fried as a result from water being present in the trunk under the spare tire. The water was gone but you could clearly see the corrosion and smell the burn.

I through out the module and ordered a new one. Checked all fuses and they seemed good. New module arrived from the dealer today and I waited anxiously to get home from work to plug it in and see the screen light and to hear the door chimes etc. No Go

The forum here and the a guy at the dealer said it was a plug and play module and no programming was needed. Can anyone confirm this from experience? Also, aside from a damaged wiring harness could anyone else think of what could prevent this from working and how I could best trouble shoot? I guess it could be possible that the module was faulty from the dealer but I think unlikely.

Any help to get my new baby going would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

check to make sure all of the modules needed are actually there in the spare tire well. i had problems with no audio in my new to my e60 and it turned out that the PO removed and bypassed one of the modules in the area. you may find that another one of the modules in the area is either also fried or is missing. in my vehicle every spot in the spare tire well styrofoam module holder is filled.

There are no other modules there. I guess the TPM and parking / back up sensors were not a feature on this one.

    Still at a loss..

    Update:
I found another fuse blown. Once replaced the CCC boots up and I have a screen again. It say this: Head Unit is not correctly programmed....

I guess I will need to reprogram this somehow. Any recommendations on how and what to do this with.

    Thanks,

I coded my MASK module to default and modified the "CODIER_CHECK" and "LOGISTIK_CHECK" to off using NCS Expert. This got rid of the error on the head unit (Not a real solution, just hiding the error I assume) as I still have no sound in car, sos error and airbag errors.

DIS shows MOST bus interrupted. I did just update the MMI/CCI module using WinKFP and still need to program the MOSTGW module and I might be good. I have a 207 error = Program order could not be determined in WinKFP when trying to update that.

I am still trying to resolve issues and regain sound and remain open for suggestions.

It's either the ccc/ m ask or the sos module is causing it to go down you can install an opitcall loop to remove the sos module in the trunk
