Last year, after several of us met-up at the ///M Car Day event at Griot's in Tacoma, we initiated an effort to reconstitute the Pacific Northwest (PNW) Z3 Coupe Gruppe in a somewhat looser form than it was in the early 2000s, when its membership included as many as 75 owners. To that end and over the last six months, we've assembled a roster of 55 reasonably committed coupe owners interested in attending various club get-togethers and/or our own, occasional get-togethers.
With the recent unseasonably warm PNW weather some of us again got together to identify a handful of PNW Coupe Gruppe events to put on our calendars for the remainder of 2016. If you think we missed a worthy event or have some additional ideas for meet-ups, please forward and we'll do our best to share with everyone on the roster in an organized manner. Feel free to also steer any E36/8 and/or E86 owner's not currently on the roster to coupegruppe@gmail.com or @coupegruppe on Instagram and we'll get them signed-up.
We look forward to seeing you at one or more of the below listed events in the not-too-distant future.

BMWCentennial Celebration at America's Car Museum at LeMay America's Car Museum
2702 East D. St., Tacoma, WA 98421
The Puget Sound BMW CCA is planning to have the E9, E36/8, and E86 chassis types (collectively, the coupes) be the featured vehicle for this event so a strong showing here would be a great kick-off for the PNW Coupe Gruppe's 2016 season. To help organize space and parking requirements, the local chapter of the BMW CCA has asked the Gruppe to help them with a head count for the event to ensure enough space will be allocated at the front of the field for our coupes so please send an email to coupegruppe@gmail.com by May 13, 2016 confirming your attendance.
NOTE: You do not need to be a BMW CCA club member to attend this event but do need to follow the above link to pre-register for the event. Pre-registration is $15. Day of event registration is $20 on a space available basis.

Dorkfest 2016/Celebrate BMW/Oktoberfest 2016
Monterey, CA& Laguna Seca Mazda Raceway
As most of you already know, this year's Dorkfest will be held in tandem with the Celebrate BMW and BMW CCA's Oktoberfest (O'fest) events in Monterey, California celebrating BMW’s 100 year anniversary. The E36/8 chassis are tentatively scheduled for a parade lap at Laguna Seca Raceway on Saturday, August 27.
Because O'fest registration opened back in February and the host hotel (Hyatt) sold out fast, finding a hotel at this point could be a challenge, but not impossible. It might be worth a call to BMW CCA central to see if they are maintaining a waiting list to fill inevitable cancellations at the host hotel.
Date TBD (Mid-August/Early September, 10:30 am - 2:00 pm)
///M Car Day @ Griot's Garage
3333 South38th St, Tacoma, WA 98409
A Puget Sound BMW CCA event to celebrate all the amazing BMW 'Rated M' cars. Great food trucks, great raffle for M related swag, and upwards of 200 ///M cars all in one place. We will share additional event details as they become available later this year.

High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) at the Ridge at The Ridge Motorsports Park
1060 W Eells Hill Rd NE, Shelton, WA 98581
Another Puget Sound BMW CCA event but with a PNW Coupe Gruppe only twist. Roster member DBWard will be hosting a BBQ at his cabin (~5miles from The Ridge) for Coupe Gruppers after the track event. For those who choose to overnight in the area there will also be an informal drive Saturday morning to take advantage of the area's scenic beauty and twisty back roads bordering the Olympic Peninsula. The Little Creek Casino Hotel and Resort is probably your best bet for area lodging and is also located about 5 miles from both The Ridge and DB's place. Regional camping opportunities are also available.
Follow the above HPDE link for the track event information/registration. RSVP for the BBQ and/or Saturday drive event by sending an email to coupegruppe@gmail.com by September 1, 2016 identifying which event (BBQ/Saturday's Drive/Both) you'll be attending.
