Wow...just "a bit" of a difference. Hah! Looking good!
Which reminds me...I need to start tearing into the M62TU I pulled out of my 540iT...

Thanks everyone it's been a long task but I've loved doing it!
The car will come in the garage tomorrow once I've made space and I'll start pulling the 7 cylinder out its done its job
will be a week or so till the standalone arrives so waiting on that so not a massive rush to get it in can take my time on it really

Managed to get the 7 cylinder out yesterday and get the gearbox mounted onto the new one. The gearbox just needs cleaning up and so does the bay now

Well today I had the engine tuned it's been running for about 3 weeks now in standard trim and I've fitted the supercharger over the last few days and here's the results 385hp and 422lbft (the rpm scale is out on the graph)

385hp crank. 332hp at the wheels I think works out as a 16% drivetrain loss.
How hot the manifold got i think it needs something more free flowing to free more horses up the tu manifolds are just rubbish.
The torque feels a proper animal being that low down

I can't remember the specs of the bottom end build on this one Jon. Are you doing anything to alleviate the normal bottom end problems that seem to occur with serious low-end torque? You're making a fair bit there!

Phew! You had me worried for a second then! I did a compression test as soon as it ran with the standard inlet on so I have something to compare it too if I do one at a later date. It'll allow me to see if there is any wear to the cylinder walls or not over time

Is the torque also corrected to be at crank? Good numbers regardless. Crossover point of torque and hp not at correct rpm, that is why I'm asking.

HP and torque are on different scales. I think that would roughly account for the discrepancy.

Not a problem it's been a stressful day putting the engine through its paces I'm still on edge now!

    I would imagine so yes.
The rpm scale is off I'm not sure why. Limiter is just over 6k

Yeah screw the crank stuff, it's essentially meaningless, but that is some good wheel torque! Coming through on the promise of low early torque delivery. Over 400wtq from 2500 to 4700ish (maybe just a little different if the rpm scale is off... But close enough...), that's gotta be fun on the street.
