F30 Brakes Metallic / Ceramic?

I am about to change my brakes for the first time. I would like to know why type of pads come standard, semi-metallic or ceramic? I don't want to have to remove the brakes to find out. I can't see the entire P/N, just 10 6. I also see numbers 085.6 and A16. Thanks!

I replaced pads with Hawk HPS 5.0. Great brake performance for the street. Just make sure to bed them in per their instructions.
