Tiny rust pits from road debris - Best method of repair

    Hi Guys -
I have some very small, pin head size, spots in various locations where the paint is missing and rust is showing. What is the best way to abate the rust and re-touch up?
I've checked out the paintscratch.com site listed from a different post but, it's not clear which of their products I should use.
Yes I know the attachment is of my MB, but I need to do the same thing on one of my Bimmers

IronX paste will work to remove the visual portion, but will not prevent it from rust reappearing in those pits soon after.

There's a sandpaper pen, I don't remember the company though. I've never tried iron-x. But I would clean up the rust then use the touch up paint and follow with the clear coat. Paintscratch.com has a kit that comes with a pen of base coat and a pen of clear as well as some polish. I haven't had time to use the ones I ordered yet but I have high hopes.

For small spots like that I'd get the paint pen kit that's 28.94 on their site.

Prior to applying the touch up paint, I'd treat the affected rusty areas with a liquid rust treatment.
Locally, it's called RustMort and it chemically converts the iron oxide to some other black metallic stuff that doesn't rust. It sort of kills the rust.

I'm sure this chemical is universal and is available in your area but probably under a different label. Same liquid, different name.

It's a clear liquid and you don't need a hazmat suit to apply it either. You could dab it onto the affected spots with a liquid soaked cloth and repeat a few times over a couple of days. Remember it's a chemical reaction so give it a few applications and time.

Car guys would know the local name I'm sure - it's common with restoration jobs.

I've bought this for both my Bimmer and the girlfriend's Civic and it works pretty well. You sand, touch up and clear coat with one small vial.
It's not about getting from point A to B, it's about every curve in between.
