    Man, that sucks to hear.

    Why exactly do you think you cracked the block though? Seems odd that you would, considering your torque / cylinder pressure is not more than others that have pushed the stock m52 block.

    Correct.
    There's likely no limit to an iron block, unless it had previous heat damage.

    What cracks a block, but leaves everything else intact?

    Can we see pictures of said cracks. My old motor I just replaced had multiple cracks from head studs to coolant passages on the block. My only guess was from an over heat situation that happened some years ago. The head was cracked in multiple spots. Nothing was spotted on the block back then.

    11:1 compression abd 35psi will murder the block..... i know ics mudered a few 11:1 e85 30+psi engines.


    Building an 8:1, ordered an sxe369.

    Selling my hx40...... done.

    Engine still idled mint despite the hole in the block lol.

    Hell yeah! You're gonna love the 369sxe drove a built m52 with the steed speed twin scroll bottom mount and a 369 on 30+ psi and its a fukn monster boost comes on hard you feel that shit in your chest! I can't wait to get mine out again! I miss going fast I'm sad now

    Cams will really wake it up in the midrange and up top! Just built one with shrick sports, s366, id1700s and a haltech sport 2000 on corn. Its on only 9 psi and it books! Now that the clutch is fully broken in we're gonna turn it all the way up!

    At least ill be one of the first with the megasquirt pnp, ill be able to control the nitrous with it which is nice.

    Misfires can create some nasty cylinder pressure spikes that go beyond anything you would see with normal combustion or even detonation. I wouldn't rule that out for your block problem and find/fix that before turning up the new build.

    Yup, I had this issue with my Biturbos, blew ringland caps. Misfire does create hell lot of pressure spikes. At least I would by new ignition coils. Bought some brandnew bremis at ebay, no Misfires anymore
