OK so that being said...I have the correct wiring harness and pump. So why would I have a secondary mass air flow fault? That's what puzzles me because my car doesn't have that part! Haha. I need to pass emissions next month so really need to get to the bottom of this. In my mind it has to be a coding problem which makes things difficult. I do have access to AUTOLOGIC if people are familiar with that tool

Gotcha, well my 04 zhp definitely does not have a 2nd maf.
Does your autologic software have a technical support contract?
Yes it does. I should contact them again. Last time they said to update the DME which I did and it didn't do anything.

They have the ability to diagnose the car's modules and create a software package for the fix. i would recommend calling their support. It is probably your best option versus any other software or switching out the DME.
Update:
So i contacted Autologic and their top level bmw tech said hes seen this recently in an e39 5 series. cause is a bad dme. autologic cant do anything in regards to coding it and neither can bmw or any other programmer. the solution is to get a new dme. that being said there are some websites selling "virgin" dmes out there that he said may work but hes a little skeptical. Maybe you guys can weigh in on it. are there other companies selling tunes that eliminate the secondary air? i found kassel performance sells a virgin dme with secondary air delete and ews delete as well as a tune. will i pass emissions with this? https://www.kasselperformance.com/pr...4-ms43-tuning/

I was hoping they could program out the secondary air function since you don't have it installed and the DME isn't the correct one. You could get into a big mess if you swap the DME. The EWS and DME need to be programmed so they operate together. I used to know all of the requirements to make that happen... EWS3 is a PITA. Very good theft prevention. You either need to find a programmer with virgin DMEs that can sync up to your EWS or you are in for a new DME.

Went with one from the link above. We'll see how it goes. I have the ability to marry the DME and EWS

Following up on this. I put the new DME purchased from Kassel Motorsports in and it fixed everything! Also my throttle feels better and the limiter is removed. Car just kinda feels smoother. Over all it turned out pretty good.
