I bought that combo several years ago and use it daily, money well spent. Use about a blade a month at least.......
Yes - I know the side panels are on reversed - dogears for mounting are supposed to be turned in. I chose to turn out - wider stance and I was not planning to mount to the bench, kept portable. I have had to move several times.

Are you gonna put in a flex section?

Haven't had much time to mess with the car this week, hence the lack of updates.
Brushed silver gauge rings installed (probably the most crucial mod to date).
Had some paint cracking around the holes for the door trim. There was some body filler in there as well, no idea what happened previous to my ownership. Ground it down and painted it.
Got more of the 4ga wire I needed to run from the fuse box to the power block. Running that around the front of the bay instead of the back. Here's the mess I've created on the passenger side. I think I can chop out a bunch of the BMW wiring sitting on top of the new wiring since I'm not running a stock radiator and temp switch.
Upper hose completed finally.
Lower hose installed, needs a clamp on the radiator side.
Had to pull the radiator and shorten the lower neck and recrimp.
And finally got all the small parts in for the rear shocks, so those are installed. Just some cheap Meyle pieces until I figure out what coils I'm going to run.

is that some kind of shrink tube hose clamp?
Gates Power Grip, stole the idea from Jon Volk on here.
Fiddled with wiring some more today to try to clean it up. Moved the throttle cable under the fuel rail, and trimmed the Corvette cover on the driver's side to clear the booster.
Mocked up some of the intake pieces. I think I'll be able to use 4" almost all of the way through, as the truck MAF is a little under that.
Played with the X pipe as well. Added a small piece to offset the cats slightly, otherwise they'd be touching going into the X pipe.

More fun with the noise pipes. Stacked up these blocks which I precisely machined beforehand, and slapped the X pipe and cats on top of it, then built the downpipes back.
Out of the car and strapped/clamped to the table to hopefully reduce some of the warpage.
Lots of tacks so far. This is 25 different pieces so far including the V band flanges.

FYI that X-pipe you have doesnt flow very well.. look in the inside of it... i acutally lost 11hp on the dyno with that Xpipe

Sold my DD M3 on Sunday, so I'm "borrowing" my Accord from my girlfriend to get to work, which means I didn't get to the shop until today. Also have been doing a bunch of other stuff that I had randomly planned (saw At the Drive-In on Saturday, good, Touche Amore and Thursday on Tuesday, not as good, and the Celtics last night, good) so I didn't have much free time as it was.
Here was my setup for welding the mid section of the exhaust. Ratchet strapped and clamped to the table.
Tacked a bunch of spots, and then started laying tacks on top of each other about an inch at a time to hopefully keep warping to a minimum.
Mounted back in the car.
Off a degree or so. I'll take it for doing everything freehand.
Clearance still good.

Spent a chunk of the day helping out my buddy with his F1- we got the cab back on and he chopped out some of the floor to fit around the TKO. He's got some pictures up on his instagram @thisismyratrace. After, I finished the welding on the v band flanges on the front of the exhaust, and straightened out a section right after the flange where two sections of the exhaust did not line up well. My buddy hit it with the torch, and I flared it out with a breaker bar.
This is the after:
Lines up a lot better, there was a gap you could see through before here.
Rear section tacked in. V banded after the X pipe, and added flex sections afterwards. 2.5" piping to the rear.
Here's as much of the whole system as I could take a picture of. I've never really minded not having a lift, but it would've definitely been nice for this part of the project.

this was on my LS1 car, in my 98 Camaro Z28, in 2006 my friend bought a DynaPack 5000.. very consistant dyno. i was using Pacesetter long tubes, to a that X pipe to to true duals using 3" dual section dynomax bullet mufflers result was 372rwhp
there was lots of discussion on the boards back on LS1tech about an X-pipe.. so i bought the cheapest one, that being the style you have, if you take a look inside, its not very fluid on how the air flows, its basically a box and not an xpipe. a true Xpipe just allows the pipes to "kiss" with a small opening keeping the flow on the same path, not allowing the flow to "bang" into one another. the thought of the xpipe is scavanging by helping the exhaust pull one another...
anyways.. initial run was done at 9am.. .. dyno'd, at 372rwp... then again 10min later after cool down and icing the intake.. 369rwp.. another cool down and ran 370rwp.. we saw power droping at 5800rpm and had an awful drone down low
decided it might be the X pipe due to design... changed it out for a custom section we built with the pipes keeping flow bend and a 1"Wx3"L open section.. redyno'd next day... same temp, same humidity factor, same barometric pressure.. initial run 9:30am 383rwhp, run 2 with 5min cool down 383rwp, 20min cool down with ice, 382rwhp..
keep in mind the only change made was the Xpipe.. this dyno reads off of the hubs, so you cant fake it by tire pressure, or preloading or strapping down.. also a positive note we lost the awful hollow drone noise this thing was making, the new pipe made a much better pitch sound... the 2000rpm to 2800 noise was awful
not trying to start anything by this, was just wanting to share expiriences... hope this helps
