E53 X5 / E39 Factory Auxiliary Audio Input Kit DIY *Video Inside*

Hey guys, I just created a DIY video on installing the aux kit into a 2005 X5 without navigation. It's the same kit for the E39 and E53, with slightly different location of mounting the jack for an E39. The DIY may vary slightly for those who have navigation. Here's the link for those searching in the future, hope it helps:

E83 and e46 non Nav are similar, but different radio removal. Same cable though.

Id suggest leaving the aux cables in the sleeve and moving your1-2 OEM wires to the new connector.
Less work and if your aux cable winds up being bad, less work to diagnose or uninstall.
If I were to give my Touring a first name, I'd probably name it "Alan".
    Mostly because I like puns.

Hi, I followed this video to the T. After figuring out that I would need to have my iDrive coded.. :c I reinstalled everything and now my AC/heat buttons will not turn on. I took everything apart about 3 times and retried with no luck.. I'm super distraught. Do you know what I might be doing wrong or have any tips for me? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hope you got this sorted out since you last posted... it sounds like you have an E60 (mentioned iDrive) which is not applicable for this particular video. This video was for the E46/E39/E53 cable kit.
