Hi !
Can anyone pls tell me what ratio should I look for 93 325i auto ? and where can I find it from ? Any vendor name or contact appreciated.
Your stock ratio is 3.91... if u mean u want a higher ratio for acceleration. You should go with something around 4.3x or 4.4x.Originally posted by ghok9839

how much would one of those cost? does it add hp, or...?
We were somewhere around Barstow when the drugs began to take hold.
A custom diff like that ratio will cost u around $1800 plus ur core. Doesnt add any hp.Originally posted by thug life

But getting back to the rear diff...i picked up an original ///M ring/pinion gears from Korman a few years back for around $700 ... it has helped alot in acceleration...but if you go too short(higher) you will lose some rpms in the top speed area.

You can see if there are any BMWs that have the ratio you would want and remove the ring/pinon gearing out of it and install it into your current diff. But usually the labor for that is pretty hefty as well.
A diff has always been called the poor mans Supercharger for a reason..
