Has anyone else had issues with the seatback lock codes? I am getting both left and right codes (with BMW scanner) and the flashing seat belt light. I wonder if it is connected? I pulled out the switch on the left side and tried jumping it and removing it from the circuit with no change to the code or the light. Or is there something that I can bypass using BMW scanner?
I have the same issue, and no solution yet, but here's what I have figured out so far. The switch is not a conventional switch - it has two resistance settings (states which we could call "Low" and "High") depending on whether it is depressed or not. I believe BMW does this so the system knows the difference between the position of the switch, and an open circuit... Hence, if you wanted to "bridge" the switch, you'd need to replace it with a resistor. Personally, I don't want to take this option though, since the purpose of the switch is to tell you if the seat is locked. This is important because if a seat is indeed not locked and there is an accident, the seatbelt would be ineffective since the seat would tilt forward
