My car is not starting after the engine swap. I know that it is getting fuel because I can hear the injectors hum if I push on the metering plate. I can also smell gas coming from the exhaust. I don't think that I am getting spark. I broke the connector on the side of the distributor when I put the engine back in, but not badly as the contacts still seem to be intact. I have also tried swapping ignition coils..

I broke that same connector and my wires are intact too. My car runs fine with those two wires plugged in. Does it get spark if you hold the wires in place?
Checked your battery voltage?
You sure you've got all the wires from the ignition distributor on the right cylinders?

Do you have a good engine ground?
I think the order is (clockwise) 4, 3, 1, 2.

Would the computers from a us spec '82 and a canadian spec '83 be different?
I gathered that from your previous post
I guess I should ask if there's a problem your car is experiencing. Is it a 'no-spark' issue?
Did you test for spark at the plugs?
*remove the fuel pump fuse while testing for ignition spark.
*fyi:
The Lambda control module is only connected to the fuel system.
The Ignition control module is only connected to the ignition system.
If ignition spark is the issue, make sure you have the ICM's brown ground wire attached properly to the engine block(not the starter motor!).
If fuel is the issue, make sure the frequency valve is connected, including it's brown ground wire to the engine block.
I'm not too up-to-snuff with the later models, but I hope that helps.
Please refer to the ETM(linked in the DIY/FAQ thread) for your car if needed.

I swapped the Lambda and ignition modules and it starts now. All I need to do now is switch the diff and driveshaft before I drive it.
