Confusion about the E92 335i Bluetooth?

Hey guys. I'm confused about the E92 Bluetooth capibilities. I want to be able to sync my iPhone 5S with Bluetooth when I get me E92 335i to play music. Can you do this? I know you can use AUX, but I want to be able to use the next/previous/shuffle MP3 controls on the steering wheel.

Some threads people report the Bluetooth can't do music, others say the Bluetooth doesn't work at all! And if I do only have the choice of using an AUX cord, can I still use the steering wheel controls?

    I'm confused, please help!

It only does phone calls. It syncs with the phone so it will be able to read contacts

Has anyone come up with a hardware/software fix for this? I am sure we have some enterprising BFers...

My '08 only works with the phone on bluetooth, it does not work on media. Media plays with the Aux cable, and plays content on your device -- phone or tablet -- or via streaming service such as Pandora. Your device controls the selection, the steering wheel will control volume.

Depending on the year, whether or not it has Navigation, and if it does what version of the Navigation system it has the answer could very well be yes.

I know for a fact that 2011 E9x's can stream bluetooth audio as long as they have the premium Navigation system (the CIC based one). I assume this change came along with the CIC Navigation upgrade in 2009, but haven't been able to confirm it yet. If your car has the CIC navigation system, go into the CD audio menu and push the knob to the left. That's where the aux input menu is and bluetooth will be listed under a sub-menu of that (you'll see your phone in the main menu, that won't do it I don't know why). I'll go out to my car and verify the exact steps at break time, but for now I'm relying on my sketchy memory, sorry).
