The VEMS pnp I am using runs my S50B32 pretty good, I made 285 whp on a Mustang dyno with Schricks and airbox. It took a bit of patience to get the cam timing sorted out but it pulls good now and I have had no issues. It is a very easy install. The guy I bought it from, Gunni, he's on here from time to time, has been outstanding with install support and tuning. We did a bunch of setup stuff early on and then some street datalogging and then a remote tune dyno session. Very good support.

The intake I have is a fully custom made CSL intake made to fit the S50B32. The throttle body spacing is different on the S54 and the shape of the box needs to be slightly different for the S50B32. I will be selling my Goke carbon intake pretty soon (third picture down from beginning of thread). Just an FYI because to have the same intake I have is a bit pricey. PM me if you're interested.
I use a Life Racing Fullspec ECU with adaptive knock control, four wheel traction control and a bunch of other customization. http://www.liferacing.com/products/ecus/f88/f88/
I have an extra DTAFast ECU that I will not be using since I shelved a different project. http://www.dtafast.co.uk/dta_products/s100pro-ecu/

Thanks for all the info, I've been leaning slightly towards AEM Infinity or Motec M800. Mainly because I feel the tuner's knowledge of the DME is more important than the hardware itself. How is the support for DTA on this side of the atlantic?
I'd be interested in the Goke airbox when you are ready to sell it.
Also, do you guys know if the ECU controls the VANOS in the same way as the S54? If not, what are the main differences between the systems? My friend who is a BMW tech and helped me install the Schrick 284's mentioned how similar the VANOS was to the S54 ones he's done.
That link to the vems unit is the one I am running. Although if you have the budget for an M800 and harness I would go that route.

lol, I don't really have the budget for motec + new carbon airbox + tune + suspension version 6.2 + hoosiers + etc. + etc.
I just want something that will get the job done, make better power without using a wonky alpha-n map or the stock MAF, and not be completely foreign to a local tuner.
All items up for sale. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...post1067700474
