I hope the title didn't confuse many as this is not a for sale thread. I have a line on a relatively clean full Britalman M5 catback exhaust with x pipe. The owner claimed the passenger side pipe towards the resonator had a slight bend which could be fixed. In the pictures it's quite clean and I'm comfortable with the price.
Having searched many threads, most predated before 2010, I'm not finding any current market prices or info other than it was said to be one of the rarer systems?
In conclusion is this worth adapting (spare wheel delete) to my 540i touring, or am I better off with a new custom exhaust? I thought for the price I'd save money rather than a new kit and it may sound substantially better than current systems, although I'm not sure as this is my first m62b44 and am well aware the s62 is what this exhaust was created for.
Opinions, comments or I'm crazy and just leave it alone?
Well, what's your goal??
IMO, if you just want better sound, I'd not give up my spare tire for it.
If you are doing engine mods that could make use of the better exhaust, and HP is your goal, it might make sense. Doesn't sound like that is what you are doing, though.
I had a shop quote me $2,000 today for the install which included the spare tire well cutout. I'm sticking to a nice dual tip and calling it a day.
