I have a 2007 530i, My problem first started with my CAS module. My car was not recognizing the keys. Dealer changed CAS it recognizes the key now but car will not start. Cranks Strong but no start. Stealer wanted $1000,s to diagnose so I took it to my own shop and started with the basics. Fuel, air, spark. I have all three. I scanned the car with BMW WHAT APP and have no faults. I started to throw parts at it, first the battery tried to start it and just cranks. next new plugs, still no luck, cranks but no start. Coil packs are good, checked fuel pressure and pump its good, installed crank shaft position sensor still no luck. Installed eccentric shaft sensor (did not have oil in it) still no luck. Sent it to my indie who uses bmw diagnosis computer and he found no faults and is also stumped on what it could be. He said everything is communicating, all relays and fuses are good, he tried starting fluid but it just back fired. He said it smells like it is flooding so he let it dry but still no luck. The timing is good. maybe BMW updated the software and messed up something? I'm at a lost. So still with no luck or any idea what it could be I am coming on here to see if anyone has any idea what else it could be.

sounds like maybe the immobilizer has been activated somehow?
how could you leave the dealership with the car if it didn't start???
Thanks for the reply, I have had the car towed from dealer to my indy then towed back to my garage. From my understanding the car should not crank if the immobilizer has been activated?
I am confused as I am sure you are.. you have Spark, Fuel and Air.. but it won't start?? Whats the compression on the car??
Yes all 3, just cranks strong but no start. Possible clogged catalytic converter? or maybe bmw did not update the software for every module? Any advice is appreciated as I am lost.
Sounds like immobilizer activated
It will crank if immobilizer is activated..?
Seeing that you have all required pre requisites, Spark, Fuel, Injector pulse. You should look at cam crank timing.
Timing has been checked and it is good, today I pulled both oxygen sensors and the car finally gave me something, they were flooded with fuel, tried to start it and I finally got some combustion still no start tho. Clogged catalytic converter?
The car finally threw some codes, any input is greatly appreciated as I am still lost

Is there power to the valvetronic actuator/motor? This is powered by a 40amp fuse in E box, this fuse receives power from the power distribution box or mpm via a maxi fuse.

I will check tomorrow if it has power still, if it doesn't have power could that cause the car to just crank and not start? any idea why it would throw these codes all of a sudden after 2 months of it not starting and having any codes?

I have not started it yet, I just had time today to mess with it, I was getting these codes with Generic code reader

I pulled the throttle actuator plug and noticed it was filled with water, blew it out with my compressor and cleared codes and they have not came back. But I still have no start just cranks. any suggestions help.
Any luck starting your bmw??? Have the same issue!!!
