I don't think he deleted his ABS module, just moved it away from the strut tower.

If that was the case, I don't know why he would have installed an aftermarket proportioning valve though. It looks like he probably T'd the fronts together and rears together into or more likely out of the proportioning valve.

that manifold is badass. and absolute best waste gate placement. my CX wastegate port was moved to the same spot, no boost creep and can fit a 3" downpipe no problem

So Otis ( www.rapidspoolindustries.com ) hooked me up with one of his brand new E36/E39 top mount manifolds for some testing. I can't thank him enough for the help. This was the very first one of this design he has sent out, and these manifolds will be available anytime now. Email him through the website for info.

The positioning of the wastegate outlet on this manifold completely eliminated my boost creep issue, and it holds a solid 10 psi all the way to redline, with a 44mm wastegate, a big ass turbo, open wastegate dump tube and open 3.5" downpipe. The runner design fits very tightly to the engine, and on the E39 it happens to leave huge amounts of clearance between the frame rail and manifold. I am also able to fit a 4" full intake with filter, and no hood clearance issues.
I like this update..!!! and no boost creep with that huge spool happy Precision

The ABS module and distribution block had to be relocated. Due to space constraints, I couldn't easily relocate the whole assembly. With my ABS/stability/traction control inactive previously anyway, I decided to eliminate the block, and just relocated the module itself to keep my vehicle speed signal active. I haven't really tweaked the proportioning valve and done enough heavy braking yet to have a good opinion of it yet.

I don't have any logs or dyno runs to share yet.

I am however concerned about the MAF readings being skewed by the upstream injection. This setup really needs to be speed density in my opinion. I know with the smaller size nozzles it hasn't been an issue yet, but it could be soon. Theoretically, the water should be evaporated by the time it reaches the meter, but hard to know how it will actually effect it with different nozzle sizes. We will see.

    Good "infos", thanks!

I'm thinking about doing the same thing with the ABS on at least one of my cars, but I'm old and I remember how life was before ABS. I liked it. Lol

Regarding the pre-MAF injection, I think you can probably account for whatever skew occurs with your WOT fuel table. I'd think it should be pretty consistent..... Maybe. Only one way to find out!

Manifold looks well made. That waste gate location and angle of the fitting look great at preventing creep.

The amount of water that the Australians inject is UNREAL! Since they are mechanical and therefore proportional to boost I have seen several guys that are over 1000cc of injection when they start getting above 25 psi. The ignition systems they have are UNREAL TOO :-) I know they gap plugs down to .018 as well. How much water have you started with for now? Where is your water reservoir? Are you mechanical or pump injection?

I'm injecting 1400-1500cc at full flow. I need to back it off some.

I was running a 1.0 and a 1.2 jet. This was great for my setup and AFRs were around 11.4, now with a direct port setup I'm running 6x 140cc jets and a 1.0 pre throttle, afrs were a bit rich. Around 10.5. Yesterday I pulled the 1.0 and changed it to a .7mm. That should lean it a hair.

You can also try less meth and more water to help correct the AFR's..

As long as your ignition system can handle the extra injection you should be good

Yeah , that's a good idea as well. But I don't think there is a need for 1500cc of meth. I was talking with SM3 the other day and he is spraying around 1000cc for 700 wheel on 93. He is in hotter climate as well. I'm going to try to back it down a little to around 1100-1200cc. See how it goes. I can say, I see much more consistency with direct port. Big thanks to OP for playing with that on his previous build.

litemup will probably do an update soon.

    Pre-emptive questions:

How much were you spraying pre-turbo? Were you just spraying water, or water/meth, or water/alcohol?

Only way to deal w/o an intercooler is Methanol as a fuel.

BUMP? I asked for a bump in your original thread for this car, but since what I'm most interested in is your latest iteration of your water/methanol setup, this thread is probably the better place to ask for a bump.

Is it true that you ended up feeling the need to add an intercooler, and if so, was it to make the MAF happy, or because of high charge temps causing problems?

Talk about a blast from the past bump here.....I'm not even mad. Was fun to re-read some of this and see how far things have come.
