Hello guys hope someone can give me a quick answer for this question
I own a recently... wrecked 1996 BMW 328i Most of the car is still salvagable including engine tranny drivetrain etc I need to if it'll fit in a 1994 BMW 318i That I've found locally for sale at a low reasonable price any other information and tips will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Also if the 318i is a automatic would the 328i Manual 5 speed fit in it's place?

6 cylinder into 4 cylinder swaps are common.
96 will be EWS II with RFID chip in key, 94 is probably EWS I with no pickup on steering lock so a little extra wiring but, with 2 complete cars you can obviously either work it out or keep putting 328 parts in until it works

You should install the 328 engine and drive train. Get an engine harness from a 93-95 auto tranny 325 and do a obd1 conversion on the engine. That will eliminate the EWS2 issues.
OR
Install the 328 drive train except the auto tranny. Do a 5 speed conversion on the 318. You still need to do a obd1 conversion on the engine and you'll still use the 325 auto tranny engine harness.

Or just use all the 328 stuff (engine box etc )
Use the auto to manual thread to take car of the gearbox "no start in gear" wiring
And tape the 328 Key to the EWS II pickup and add the couple of wires required for it to still work and tuck it under the dash OR get someone to flash the ECU to remove the ECU part of EWS
Or lift and shift enough of the 328 wiring and modules for it to think it is a factory 328
