Hello all. I bought this car over a year ago from a fellow bimmerforums member. I bought it intending to fix it up, but all my extra $$ keeps going to other cars and what-not. So this car has to go. I have literally put less than 100 miles on this car since owning it (I am in the used car business so i have ample amount of cars to drive). The car is in the same exact condition as the previous states. There is clear coat peeling, the seats aren't in the best shape, just all around edgy. The car does start up, runs, and drives. I need this thing gone like, yesterday. I paid $9800 for this car (plus $900 for shipping). Im asking $5000...yes $5k. Im ready to cut my losses and recupe what i can. I would suggest hauling the car where it needs to go instead of driving, but hey, thats just me

What's wrong with the motor:?
"I would have the car hauled where it needs to go, not driven..."
No explanation? Why waste people's time, you know they are going to ask what's going on. Vanos failed, standalone/wiring issues?
Newb q here... So a standalone is the only way to do an S54 > E36?
I'm going to guess that the motor was pulled out of a early model car which had a rod bearing defect that was recalled. I don't know if you could get the recall done at this point being in another car. There is mention in the original thread that the tune wasn't done and rev limiter on it for that reason.
cars sold. thanks for all the assumptions
