Hi guys,
I bought a 2011 x5 e70 5l around 5 months back with a little over 100,000 km on the clock. A couple of month or so ago it started releasing white smoke from the exhausts, mainly whilst idling and it has gotten worse over time and now there is a burning oil smell too which is very strong from outside the vehicle. I have contacted BMW but they have completely declined to help even though it seems more of a manufacturing fault rather than wear and tear (full dealership history when bought).
I've just given it to a garage to repair which includes a engine overhaul in order to change valves. The garage offer a 1 year warranty on all their work. However, my question is from any of your experience if you have had this done to your car or know someone who has, does this problem reoccur? Because if it does I will be tempted to sell it at the earliest opportunity.
thanks in advance!
Same car year and model..any answers yet?
