I'm not exactly set on getting new wheels for the e39 yet, just considering it. Also, the e39 wheels are painted now, so I would have to get additional wheels painted if I went that route, adding more cost. One thing I did confirm tonight is that my e38 wheels either have bends in them or the tires on them are bad, because I put my 18" 93s on with Michelin AS+ all-season tires and the car was very smooth, so it looks like I have at least a few 95s of different colors that likely have bends. I guess I'll have to get the 95s on my e39 addressed first though.

    Parts List

    Hey guys,

I think I've finally got the parts list corrected with parts used and I'm ready to post it. Keep in mind, the only prices I put in are RealOEM prices and ECS Tuning prices. You're welcome to take the part numbers and search other parts sources. If anyone requires the Excel file so they can do their own calculating, PM your email address to me and I'll send it directly. It wouldn't let me upload the excel file itself. Maybe I'll throw it up on Google Drive if I get enough requests.

The total price can be reduced by almost $1000 by going with a LuK flywheel and clutch kit from RockAuto.com, but your total price will vary considerably depending on what parts you get from the donor vehicle or used. I've tried to recommend which parts can be used and which should be new in the notes section. I've included all RealOEM links to the relevant pages where the part numbers were obtained.

Let me know what you guys think!

So, I removed the PDF file I posted before and in a later post put the link to the spreadsheet on Google Drive so you can download it and modify it on your computer. You can get it in this post: http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...9#post29090219

    2019 M2 Comp, 2011 M3,
Nice job Paul gathering that parts list. I'm sure it will be incredibly useful out into the future.

On a related subject, I've been pondering how much it would cost to do a 6MT swap on an E91 since they are incredibly rare (and EAG is trying to corner the market on all the 2010+ E91 6MT cars and massively ramp their price). I would assume it would run somewhere in the $3k range on parts too.

BTW, how's the car doing now that you've had a chance to drive it more?

I imagine it can be pretty cheap since the 6-speed transmissions for the N52 are dime a dozen.

    Thanks Chuck!

As TerraPhantm said, it shouldn't be that hard to swap a 6-speed into an e91 since it's basically an e90 chassis wise, so it's just a matter of getting the parts that go on an e90 manual and swapping them over.

As for the 530i6, I'm having a blast with it! The car drives great and it's a lot of fun. I'm still trying to be easy on the new clutch for a bit, though I've probably exceeded the 1000 shifts point and should be fine.

She desperately needed a bath after driving in the snow a bit and mainly the salted roads, so afterwards, I decided it was a good time to finally get some updated pics with the painted style 95s. The pics I took before had the car filthy and the last time I washed the car it was too late to take pics, so it just had to wait until now.

    Here's the pics:

And I took one of the inside, but hadn't vacuumed yet:

Not bad for 204k miles, eh?

Also, I don't know if I'd mentioned it before, but I swapped my gauge faces on the M5 cluster from gray to OE black faces. Of course, when taking the picture, I totally didn't realize that I missed the ///M logo behind the steering wheel. Doh!

I was jussssssst going to ask you about that cluster. Last time I remember you had the grey face.

If the car is driving great I assume the noise is almost non existent?

It's there, but as soon as I turn the music up to any kind of reasonable level, it's not heard on the inside. I can hear it if the windows are down though. It definitely doesn't seem to affect how the car drives, so I'm really not worried about it that much. I'm just going to enjoy the car for now. I still haven't had the wheels checked out yet though. I really need to do that soon.

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh, and I still need to remove the paddles from the steering wheel. I'm hoping that when Brian gets his nice M5 steering wheel put on his wagon that I can buy his wagon steering wheel and put it on mine. Then sell the SMG wheel I have (not a true SMG wheel as I converted my stock wheel to add the SMG paddles, so no tri-stitch).

You'll likely get one of those from the M3 donor anyways, so I'm hoping at least

Hey guys, I decided to put the spreadsheet on Google Drive so it's easier for you to download it and edit it to your liking with your own prices. Here's the link to view it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxS...ew?usp=sharing

I may still go back and do the same for a S62 swap in an e38 and e39 540i. Doing the swap in Brian's wagon is still pretty fresh in my mind. The e38 though might take a bit longer to remember everything. Also, after Trevor (007008) did his and a few more since, there are some better options for some things, which complicates things.
