Just replaced computer in my 3007 335i. Now I'm getting engine malfunction warning intermittently. Once car has been driven several miles, if you kill it and restart, it goes into limp mode. I'm thinking computer needs reprogramming. Mechanic wants to replace coils, injectors, and hpfp. Anyone else had this problem??
Hello, Little late but. I signed up just to give you my input. I have had numerous issues with this vehicle. I am now down to the same issue as yourself.
Don't know if you still have the car or if your problem has been rectified. I have noticed that when hot the water pump does not seem to flow as it does when cold.
But it flows. I believe it is vapor locking the fuel either in the low pressure tube( there is a low pressure fuel sensor there also) or heat is affecting the fuel pressure sensor. Does not like what it sees and goes into limp mode. With a scanner plugged in I have noticed the fuel pressure in limp mode at 75 psi, Way to low. The tank pump puts out 75 psi, So I believe that's what I am seeing. The sensor is possibly cutting the pressure back. I am replacing the fuel sensor and wrapping it with heat wrap on mine. That is a start anyway. Then tank sending unit if needed. Possible wrap the HPFP also. Let me know if your tech found anything
