Not really any progress yet I'm afraid. We've spent the last couple of weekends working on the house project rather than the car.

As my brother mentioned, not much progress yet.

One thing that has changed is the m3, it's been sold and replaced with another m3e36 that has an M50b25 engine with turbo. It's silver and delivers 600hp/800nm and has a best et of 10.04/224kmh.

Got tired of the brilliant but slow red N/A e36, 321hp just isn't enough when you are used to 600+ hp

Regarding the M1, our body is in the making and is scheduled to arrive in Sweden sometime in February/March

I'm confused, someone swapped the m50b30 m3 engine single Vanos for an m50b25 non Vanos? How is this an m3? Nice power though.

No M3's had an M50 (M50B30 also does not exist), sounds like previous owner swapped out the S50 in exchange for a turbo M50

Pictures arent loading for me though

Its an Euro M3 with S50b32 from the beginning, bought without engine and now features a m50b25

The body and chassis of the euro M3s differs quite a bit from the regular e36s.

Edit: imgur har apparently blocked bimmerforums, fixing it as we speak!

Its winter here guys, no video until spring im afraid

The brakes are Porsche Boxster S, Caliper No: 996351425 & 996351426.

    Adpater: http://www.millway.se/adapter-brake-...mw-e36-z3.html

Discs are m3e46 325mm euroversion, CSL also works but requires 18".

Either shave off 12mm from caliper for 325mm disc, or 2mm for 345csl disc.

    Brakepads are PFC01

    A quick little update.

We decided to ditch the Corvette stock front subframe and went back to building our own mounting points instead.

It turns out that the Corvette front frame is heavier, but the main reason we decided to ditch is was that it is simply too bulky in a place where we are allready struggling for space, making it hard to reach all the nuts and bolts for adjustments that we may want to put a tool to later on when the car is complete.

So, we went ahead and got a couple of plates bent and got started on the construction of our own front beams with mounting points.

Then we cut a beam and dot-welded em together.

We're gonna need 2 of these though, one with the mounting points for the steering rack and one without em.

Here is the other beam, which has been completely welded aswell as enfroced with some bits and pieces of sheet metal.

Also got started on the same piece on the rear mounting points.

    And that's all for now

    New update

So, obviously the Porsche gearbox won't fit on the S85B50 so we're going to have to make an adapter plate, among some other stuff, but let's start with the adapter plate.

Quite a big and beefy piece of metal.

We're also going to have to make sure that the gearbox becomes centered, or there'll be trouble. As you may remember, a couple of updates previously we slaugthered a stock gearbox so that we could get ahold of a piece of the sweep that'll now come in handy for constructing the adapter plate.

We took that part that we cut off from the old gearbox, bolted it onto the engine and then we bolted this centering piece onto the crank.

Then we cut a hole for the starter and attached the other part of the adapter plate onto the centering piece.

    Seems to fit quite nicely

Off to the workbench and start marking it out for some cutting. Also had it machined a little.

Then we reattach everything and get some welding done :9

Once everything is welded we cut away the cross section and added some studs.

Bonus pic of the new garage helper

That's all for now, at least we are making progress

maybe a silly question but are you blueprinting all of this? In case you wanted to reproduce another?

I was going to say you should do a straight pipe S85 v10 with ITBs and was not disappointed when I saw the intended engine.

Gearbox successfully mounted onto the engine

And yes, the gearbox is supposed to be upside down, else we'd have a drivetrain designed for performance reversing.

Now we need to figure out an appropriate clutch combination.
