If you want even more speed get an athlon motherboard that supports DDR ram, and get DDR ram, it doesnt cost much more anyway.

as of now....the current selection of DDR mobo's is very limited, I could find anything worth looking at.

the Abit baord I'm gettin has built in RAID, 4 IDE channels and all the goodies I want.....except DDR....

oh well, would have been nice

From the non DDR boards, I would get the ABIT with 100 raid, its a good board with good reviews.

    just an old 328
Everything is good except the AMD.. go for Intel. AMD is less reliable. I know this from experience.

I just picked up a IBM T20 notebook.. PIII 700, 12BG, 128mb, 14.1",DVD, 4.6lbs and 1.25" thick titanium composite casing. Built in everything combo 3Com network & MDM. One of the top notebooks currently!!

    Talking intel

gotta agree with Willy. Go with Intel. Intel has a better track record, more reliable etc etc... and I work for Intel, and would like to keep my job, so forget AMD! Please?!?!?!?!?!

I usually go for Intel, all my machines have been Intel until now....

Intel has been pulling some stupid shit these days (P4......LOL) and the AMD is speed king these days and much cheaper.

but I agree that Intel is more reliable, I would never build a server with an AMD, but for a gaming PC i'm going with speed.

    the case is ordered
    the mobo is ordered
CPU is on its way (returning a favour)
    the rest is gravy
