Does anyone know of any vendors that might provide that headlight service on a glass headlight? I like the look of it plus the potential performance gains from direct air into the engine bay, but I'd hate to buy a whole new set of lights just for that mod.
If you're just worried about direct air into the engine bay instead of "ram" air, take off the frame to headlight and do what this guy dude. You can keep the intake on the turbo and the air coming through will be ambient. When you're on the street, put stock headlight back in.

It's really not that big of a deal, I'm sure if I find it necessary after assembling the car that I can make it happen. I was just curious if there was one readily available. There have been several high whp cars that have done without it, I'm sure I'll be fine.

My bigger worry is getting parts in, I still have no turbo manifold in my hands yet lol. Also need to go down my checklist again.

Why you retiring this car from street duty?

I have driven my car more miles over a shorter period of time since I turbod it than I ever have in my previous 4 years of ownership. Its so much fun, I drive it every chance I get. Ive put almost 5k miles on it so far. Would seem like such a waste to build such a car and never drive it..

This. Cars should be built to be driven unless they're dedicated track/race cars IMO.

I've learned my lesson daily driving my race car. Although it was fun, it was too much wear and tear to race it on weekends and drive it 25 miles each way back and forth to work everyday. Remember, my local racing scene is very active so it'll definitely see street duty, but mostly reserved for the weekends. Trust me, it's going to get driven lol.

Lol I'm trying! As for the race scene, at least you're close to the top of the food chain in your area. I'm still going to have to compete with modded supras, GTRs, twin turbo/supercharged coyote 5.0's, LS swapped everything, etc. There's a TON of fast cars out here.

Its always boring in the summer/fall. Then the excitement comes in the winter. This is where the bench racing and the dreaming is heavy.

Cause people are scrambling to get their cars done, work out the gremlins, and don't want to take the time to snap pics and document. They also don't want to disclose the foolish screw ups and mistakes they have made. Where is in the winter, cars are usually down and there isn't much of a rush.

Parts finally starting to roll in. Got these from Ant's recommendation, really look like solid pieces. It was a nice surprise as I had totally forgot I ordered them LOL.

What's the recommendation on wastgates, turbosmart vs tial? Any one better than the other?

Doing some parts research, has anyone here ever used boost activated exhaust cutouts? As in they activate when the car goes into boost?

Ive seen people use 60mm gates as cutouts, oh and for wastegate preference, ive liked the tial gate but i never had experience with any other brand which can be just as good.

I preferred my tial v44 to my turbosmart hypergate 45. Same turbo same manifold same exhaust same boost controller and settings, the tial held low boost steady while the turbosmart creeped. At higher boost, they both seemed to control well.

I like my precision 46mm gate. Boost control is perfect and it comes with all the springs to go from like 3 psi to 27. I really appreciate that. I think the Tial is a bit more compact and it also comes with all the springs but the range of spring pressure is lower. I don't think you can go wrong with Tial or Precision.

Yea I do. Its an e-cutout. Pneumatic would be better. There is no clutch in an e-cutout so they are easy to damage if you keep forcing them into position.

I run a synapse 50mm. I like it a lot i can change boost settings while the car is hot.. It has like 10 settings per spring, plus a preload which ups the boost like 0-10 psi with infinite increments.

The best part is its crack pressure is higher than most wastegates. 18 psi on a regular gate will crack at like 13, this will hold to 16 or something.

If your running ebc its probably not as worth it.. Ill let you know.

Theres also a few home brew diesel options that make VERY nice gates.
