Now I gotta go back and find where I put them lol. I know I took them out the car and I think I put them in my toolbox, but since we've moved out the old house since then they could be either in a box packed away with other car parts or in my toolbox...both in storage behind 2 motorcycles lol.

Sent VAC an email inquiring about the cams, doubt they'll get back to me with pertinent information but at least I can say I tried.

I like the title of this thread. There is no such thing as an "N/A guy". There are only people who don't yet appreciate turbo's.

NA means an engine waiting patiently to be turboed.

Totally disagree. Depending on the car I much prefer a strong NA motor over a supercharged or turbo application. For example, I loved my s54 e30 m3 in NA form. The car made 317whp/254wtq and weighed 2600 lbs, with fairly aggressive gearing. I initially planned to supercharge it, but after dialing it in NA, I only wanted to either do cams or a stroker for a bit more power. I didn't need THAT much more power in that car, it was almost perfect.
The same can be said for an NA LS powered car, I'd much rather have a properly built NA LS over a boosted one, different stroke for different folks.
I've driven and owned awesome turbo cars, however, I don't car for them in the same respect due to the way I use my cars. I primarily do tight canyon runs and don't need the crazy, less predictable torque from boost. Also aftermarket turbo cars are much less reliable for the most part, and there is always a much greater chance of something going wrong with them. I respect them, and enjoy driving them in a straight line, but that's about it.
My favorite turbo car I've driven is an old customer's 383awhp/372awtq Evo VIII RS. Had a fat power band, proper suspension, and was very light. The bigger thing was that it had proper traction in every scenario. The best turbo BMW I've driven is an old Castro e30 - 325whp/328wtq, 2300 lbs, long gears, proper tire, extremely well balance.

Turbos aren't for everyone. Some are scared of the delivery, the unpredictability. Others live for it.

For the record, all of your complaints, powerband, less predictable TQ (whatever that means?), reliability can easily be addressed and made a non-issue. It's all in the details.
There is something to be said about a well messaged NA engine, the feel, sound and power delivery. But the cost vs gain? No thanks. You can easily build a balanced turbo engine with the right parts. The one biggest downfall for most here is using a stock/OEM ECU.
Or what it really means: Not Available

Denial and ignorance.
No seriously I get it. If I lived somewhere like new england, appalachia, or so cal where there is ample twisty road driving I probably would have built a different type of car. That type of driving is virtually nonexistent in the midwest except for basically residential streets. Thats why there are so many of the 1200whp pro street type cars here in the midwest. A 350 hp car here is boooooooooring. And you will get outrun by a pickup.
My car must be slow and not have the torque that you guys are talking about because I'm surrounded by twisties and love the power and the delivery on the track. Going back to NA would be a big disappointment and down grade at this point.
One thing I might add though is that I've been driving my car boosted for over 100,000 miles so I know that the throttle is not an on/off switch. Part throttle can be used, especially in a corner. I'd rather have access to the power than not.

In my area I run into 9 and 10 second street cars that trap 130-150mph, pretty much every weekend, soooooooo NA just wont cut it out here.
I've always been an NA lover, then E36 HateR gave me a ride in his car and I went home and subscribed to every build thread in the Forced Induction section lol
Do the 286s have a good bit of overlap?? I would assume since you have a lopey idle..overlap is not really a good thing for a boosted motor, no?
