Not a gen2.
You would be much better off pushing a 6266 gen2 to 30psi than you would be pushing a 6466 to 25 psi with a .84 back housing. The heat and EGT's would be sky high.
My vote is, if you want big power 750+, get the 6466 with a 1.0.
If you want the response and 650 get the 6266 gen1 with a 1.0. If you want 700 and the response, get the gen2 6266 with the 1.0.
Anyway you look at it, you will need at least the 1.0 back housing. The 0.84 is too small.

You are starting out with an 850 rwhp turbo, and called it your first, so I figured you would be going for over 1000 rwhp soon.

Butters can get pretty good deals on both the turbos you are considering. But you also might want to look at smaller turbos that will have a broader power band and maybe even more power under the curve on 93 pump plus meth. If you are tuned for E85 then you can probably spool the bigger turbos soon enough. Choice also depends on driving style -- whether you want instant power in any gear or you ate willing to row the gears to make sure you are in the power band.
I'd go with the garret turbo

Probably the non watercooled center section is fine for a street or drag car. A drift or track car turbo would benefit from water cooling. I think the PT are a good value for a street or drag car.
Bought a few things for the build, got more planned. I was still wondering if I should try my VAC 286 N/A cams with the turbo setup, but don't want to waste time doing a mod like that if it wouldn't benefit from it. Then I went onto VAC's website and saw these:
https://store.vacmotorsports.com/bmw...rts-p1433.aspx
I wonder what the difference is between these and the ones I have. Probably duration? Because lift on the intake cams seems to be identical, and obviously the exhaust cam has even more lift than my N/A cams. I'd email VAC and ask, but I'm pretty sure their answer will be to buy the turbo cams without giving me any sort of reasoning why and how they're different, being that their customer service/information has been deplorable since day 1 in my eyes although the product themselves have been great.
Edit: went to go compare those to the ones I have on their site and they've taken down all the info for the N/A set, smh. Guess I'll have to pull out the cam card and see if I can compare that way

Haven't bought one yet but I'm 95% sure it'll be a 6466.
Bought a turbo manifold, fuel system sans injectors, intercooler, miscellaneous odds and ends. Next up are AKG engine and tranny mounts and turbo so that I can start putting things in place.
I agree, but if I can get some more power out of it with something I already own then why not? Plus I loved the lope sound of my old setup, I'll miss it lol.
Shuttup, you lol.

Do NOT get the akg bolt through trans mounts. I got them and had them out and sold within a week. They were god awful. I have no issues with NVH for the most part. But those were insane. I have the akg poly motor mount, no problem with it. The bolt through trans mounts OMFG...
