Help with vacuum lines and P0455

So my P0455 was not solved with a new gas cap.

First thing I did was confirm no leaks/cracks in the evap canister in trunk, lines, fittings, along with the stuff behind passenger rear fender liner.

Moved to the engine bay and think I found my issue. Car is a 328is with M52 running M50 manifold FYI.

The below vacuum line has always been laying around since I bought this car as a project.

It is connected to below solenoid:

Which then controls this blue line running to the back of the car. I always thought this was for the exhaust flap so paid it no mind (running E36 M3 muffler).

Its plug is in the same loom as the MAF harness

    Can anyone confirm that:

    1. The blue line is indeed for exhaust flap and can be left alone
    2. The line in the first pic....should be connected somewhere? (or no because of #1)

Also my engine bay charcoal canister, one side goes to the manifold, and the other is connected to this line which goes through the fuse:

I suspect my P0455 gross evap leak is due one of these lines connected wrong and appreciate any guidance.

    Thanks!

Pretty sure that blue line is not connected to the exhaust flap. The exhaust flap vacuum line is the one going into the fuse box. Somewhere around here I have a nice diagram of the entire evap system but I can't find it right now....

    Thanks!

If I am reading those correctly then the first picture of the thicker tube with plastic piece should route somewhere back into the intake?

Can anyone with a M50 or M50 manifold swap help confirm the OEM location? intake boot?

Did you ever identify what the solenoid controls?

That solenoid in the pics is the purge valve for the charcoal canister. Every e36 has one.

+1 it is from the trunk canister

I have mine plugged into the vacuum line which used to drive the exhaust flap but still have a P0455 unfortunately.

Still have to figure out a way to get routed correctly...
