YaY! My new toy from Goat Guns showed up on my doorstep this evening! They make some pretty cool scale model guns, tonight’s flavor is Sarge’s newest masterpiece, the Colt 1911 .45
The stupid thing is awesome, it breaks down like the real thing, pretty much, so far, what I see wrong is, the barrel is not hollow, 3/8” into the tube, the bolt does not chamber the dummy round out of the fully functional magazine, the safety goes on with the hammer not in the cock’d position. But hey, who the F cares, it’s a model of a great old pistol, I love it. The grip safety actually works, pull the trigger and the hammer goes home. I’d love to make this thing actually shoot.... hmmm.....

    Cool little pea shooter Snotty.

My 3000Lb HF low profile floor jack has had a very slow leak for a few years until yesterday when there was a 4" puddle of hydraulic oil under it.
I bought it about 8 years ago, it's always worked just fine, no reason to throw it out.
Took it apart and found the 2 o-ring on the piston were toast. Looked thru my parts bin and found the correct size.
    All fixed, no more leaks.

    16x8.5 -6 and 16x9.5 -19 with 18mm spacer.

I don't mind the fart can because it's more period correct for the build. I'd like something smaller but nothing I'm really considering now.

Thought I'd share Sharky with ya'll. Plucked this car out of obscurity from an ad on CL for a garage sale in small-town Missouri last April. It only has ~30K miles! I didn't fall in love right away, fairly underwhelming when you're used to an e39 with a V8, but I've gotten it running well and it's growing on me. It's the only car of my bunch (e30 vert, e36 M3, 540 wagon) that I don't feel compelled to wring out every time I drive it. It makes me feel pretty chill actually, and I like to just cruise around looking cool. I just love the looks it gets, people tend to just stand and stare as I cruise by lol.

Yeah! Nice car, but Style 5’s are blah..... if you’re gonna go that route, Style 42, I worked on an ‘88 M6 that had those on it, looked really good. Hell, I’d try Style 66 staggered on it, that would look good on that car.

42s are another good option. Or maybe even 71s. 65s look nice too if you want to spend the cash for a full set.

lol Having grown up in Hollywood since age three, it sure is going to be a major change.

Still trying to figure out what I should do with the e39. I'm very probably going to take it with me.

^__If you bring your E39 find a drive thru car wash that has an undercarriage spray.
All of those northeast states love to dump salt on the roads.
Maybe leave the E39 home and get a winter beater.

Nick! Congratulations man! Awesome news! Your E39, bring it, but watch out for some of those roads out there, they’re worse than the highways out on the moon. Store the car at a good storage garage, might be cheaper to store it in a storage unit, come spring time, after a good rain washes all the salt off the roads, take the car up to the Poconos. Epic roads up there. Used to go out for big rides on our bikes out there back in the day, it’s only about 45 minutes out of Philly, or so I remember, been a while.

Have been thinking about this. I very well may leave it home and lease a cheap, reliable car. I'm not going to have time to clean the car as meticulously as I do now and would need to there.
