Been having to work on our old Jeep... Bit tight in the garage w other projects going on there... and it's been heatwavey lately... So it was getting brutal in the sun wrestling w door panels and wiring and cooling systems, and when my bud the other morning said "hey maybe you should get one of those canopy things..." I remembered seeing em on sale at my local hardware store.... :15 later... Frikkin awesome! Love it. Wish I'd snagged one ages ago. Sorry for stupid too big photo. Tablet hassles.

LOL. Same exact one Jim, just a 'ridiculously misleading photo'!
Its not in terrible shape, but indeed one of the things on the agenda is some unplanned quick and dirty hack bondo work on a couple of spots (Mass inspection is likely to fail from the 'somebody might cut themselves on your rust!' requirement... ). My FiL drives it mostly and it shows up periodically with a new mystery dent. One of those mystery dents from a few years back, while we weren't looking, turned into rot holes because he never ever washes it and it lives near the sea in the winter salt belt.
That plus a list of 10 other "oh i didn't mention that wasn't working because I didn't want to bother you" things that need fixing. "oh its low on coolant but I didn't put any in because the hood latch is broken". (answer: hood latch not broken at all, just was a little too stiff for a senior-citizen w/ arthritis to pull the cable...) Oh and t-stat totally jammed open clearly, once you start moving poor engine is running at like 100F all the time. Oh and "uuhhhh gee its 10k past its oil change, what happened to you changing the oil on it regularly?" answer "oh I know you're particular about the oil you use so I didn't want to...." (um. no. then why didn't you tell us to take care of it? more like "I just totally didn't think 1 second about it"... )
So far, electric windows all fixed, dead stereo speakers fixed, hood latch fixed... Parts on the way for the other 8-9 things... And looking forward to doing bondo work in midst of a heatwave.

Hope everyone had a good fourth... did I mention my E36 track rat stalled on I-85S last weekend (for some reason Fourth of July weekend is one of the busiest travel weekends… Who knew) in the fast lane in stop and go traffic and the damn electric cooling fan switch failed on me... in this redic heat wave... I was dead in the water stalled out as I panicked a bit trying to get over once I saw it creep past 12 o clock... stalled trying to get over so had more or less two more lanes closed while the dang thing cooled off... HERO unit dispatched and then, clugluglufligroooom! Skirrrrt! Off I went... pulled into driveway and started creeping again so I put my leaf blower to it, in my neighbors D way lol... I couldn’t find my cordless so it was an ordeal with wires running thru bushes and cars scattered near and far... lol... my neighbors hate me enough as is... (from the Cars) oh notice his track special markings on the roof... lmao...

So I got a couple of oil-change collecting jug things from a friend of mine when he moved outa state not long ago... including this one...
Used it probably a couple times, never really paid much attention to it, but after using it to change the ATF in the Jeep yesterday, as I was pouring the used ATF back into the new bottles to dispose, I noticed a weird 'stuff sliding around inside' noise.

Dumped it into a pan and...
Buncha gravel and rocks in the bottom!?!? WTF!?!?
