If anyone has good knowledge of the E39 “watershed” my buddy needs help with a clogged CPillar drain... he doesn’t know where it runs to... he’s posted and looked with no success so I thought I’d bring on topic (can respond with PM) for a sec.... hope all of you are well... the grinder ever come around anymore? What about DK Head? Anyway... toodles
Hey boss! I"m here - was super busy w/ other stuff for a bit so slowed down some, but have been back around a bit more lately. C-pillar drains - I believe they come out in a hidden place behind the liners in the fender well, but I could be wrong?

Funny, I had to tear the rear ends apart on these two Germans.

The Audi is a loaner from Audi Of Arlington, stupid customers went to Home Depot and piled a crapload of sacks of potting soil in the rear, when the tailgate kept trying to open back up, because a sack or two were obviously sticking out in the way, they tried to force it shut, bending the hinge mounting points out and downwards, horrible design, the hinges mount onto the roof basically, which is aluminum, epoxied to some pretty mild steel. This is the fourth one we’ve had to do so far, apparently , other shops across the country are dealing with the same issue, Audi is quietly issuing a recall on it. Idiots didn’t even think of using a square washer, you know, to kinda give it a bigger footprint, they just use round little washers on the 13mm nuts. Stupid inexperienced engineers fresh out of college obviously, these morons don’t even know how to use a screwdriver, I can tell, the way they keep changing things up every year.i think the new Audi’s are all junk.
The X5, 1,500 miles on it, was rear ended, some moron body man at one of our sister shops is now lining up at the unemployment office....
He was paid to replace the bumper cover, the reinforcements, cut out the rear body panels, weld in the new ones, seam seal, and send it to the paint shop, instead, he figured on halfa$$ing the job, didn’t even try to straighten anything out, shimmed the reinforcement bar, and the bumper cover stiffeners, thinking that he’d get away with it, well, the thing was sent to us to check his work, bumper was not were it should have been. I would have noticed it even when I was ten years old, our district manager happened to be there when I was looking at it, he apparently saw the same thing I saw, others didn’t. Took it apart, found all the reasons why, John got on the horn and fired the moron for his evil ways.

A bunch of friends from the local CCA chapter were out there, that’s the one that was in Asheville right? Get anymore pictures? There should have been a guy with a really clean white E28? From VA, I restored that one back in 2006. Wish I could have gone.
