You should have a crack at something with our local Ford Barra 4.0 I6 turbo lump...
It's a beast of an engine that regularly makes lunch from the LS Commodores (Pontiacs over there) on this side of the pond.

I fully understand. My issue is these cars are super complicated. It's very easy to hide issues and frankly I wouldn't start over on one of these.

Man, that's really cool about the space station and all. An old friend of mine was into that with his father back in the day. I was always amazed at how many people around the world they had connected with, a few from the Soviet Union too! I used to look at all those cards that everyone sent to each other. Too bad, I have a huge VHF antennae just sitting in one of the hangars that's not being used, if anyone wants one.

[QUOTE=DustenA;29801754frankly I wouldn't start over on one of these. [/QUOTE]

I"m with that. I don't even like to 'start over' on cars I really really like. One of the reasons I don't still own an Audi C4 S-car, I'd find it tedious to 're-do' all the key stuff from my first build... Buncha times I saw nice cars for sale but had to go through the "OK what doesn't it have that is a MUST that I'd need to go back and do again..." If I bought one I'd prob need it to have 75% or better of the 'stuff I need' done to it already, then maybe I could put the finishing touches on it..

But mostly I'd not do the same car twice I don't think.... Have thought about it w/ the M3 too when a particularly nice coupe has come up for sale but then I'm thinking again "OK move all my parts / mods over or otherwise do them again... oh and the preventative stuff, like I got that mega Dr. Vanos cog on this motor so what do I do about that on the new car... and the subframe... and..."

I'd rather start on a new car and be blissfully ignorant of all the stuff I'll decide I have to do.

I lived in Townsville for 16 years....
Most of my school life and my trouble making teens to mid 20s lol
    I can't say I miss the place.
Darwin has a special place in my heart, hopefully Tombliboo Un up in NK could throw one of his fancy new rockets at the place.
The only place I haven't been on your list is Hobart, but that's on the cards.

Has anyone seen reviews of the "Ultra Racing Front Lower Brace" for the I6 E39s? I've been spending a lot of time under the subframe lately, and I don't think it needs reinforcement, but more can't hurt, right?

I saw that one, too, but I'd go with a Dinan bar just because I like the style, and the white is in glaring contrast to the rest of the engine bay. It would look nice painted a nice deep silver or maybe wrinkle black.
