Cursed at the dang drivers window regulator I got from ECS (the aftermarket one with the premium bearings etc) . Second failure in about as many years.
They only seem to last a year before the spool dies. Rest of the ting is great... if the spools weren’t shit.
Now I have to cut the cables to get the regulator back out when the spool dies so I can install another one.. Guess it is back to OEM for me.

If they stock it, get it from FCPEuro. Their warranty is real.

Because of the warranty, they tend to stop selling brands that break. ECS won’t stand behind what they sell, leaving you holding the bag on poor quality parts

Spark plugs and oil change on Saturday.

275k miles. Tech that worked on it said it drove like a new E46. I don't disagree. Front end has new-ish control arms, tie rods, sway bar links, and brakes. Shocks and struts were done at 150k, but weren't really even in bad shape then. Replaced the steering wheel when I got the airbag recall done last year too, which helps a lot with the "feel" of the car.

Replaced all six ignition coils and spark plugs, clearing a P0305 code for a cylinder 5 misfire at the 168,400 mile mark. Coils had been in there since day 1, while the old plugs had 68K miles.

Not today, but over 4th of July weekend I finally replaced my speakers with #BAVSOUND Stage One speakers. Man oh man is it nice to have tunes again. Turned it on, could hear bass, could hear mid-range, could hear tweeters. I went for a 1/2 hour drive at 10:00 PM just so I could crank it up. My 18 year old factory speakers were basically non-existent and snapped & popped all the time. Here's a photo of just how bad they were.

99% of the time, a shredded belt has a cause other than the belt itself failing. Check all of the pulleys; water pump, p/s, and idlers. The water pump bearings may be failing which allows the pulley to ride at an angle, and the tensioner may fail in a similar fashion. Or one of the pulleys may have a crack or chip, creating a failure point in the belt.

Can also be caused by misaligned belt when installed

Oh man don't you know it. I would often get an ear piercing snap/pop instead of music, especially when driving with windows down which I usually do.

Filled up the power steering fluid and assembled my new QuickJack, bled the lines and tried it out on the car. This is way easier than jacking up the corners and will make my driveshaft, guibo, csb install much easier as well as any maintenance to the car. I was ready to start taking apart the front end to install new CV axles and tie rods only to discover my 36mm socket I used on my E36 a few years ago on a wheel bearing change is a 6 point not a 12 point. The stores are closed and now I have to wait until tomorrow to get the right socket. Oh well...

Cleaned AFE intake yesterday and threw it back in today. I’m new to the forums here ( hello all )... Now I am in need of recommendations if anyone is up to giving advice. I refuse to drive the 330 during the winter, so I’ll be doing a boat load of mods and maintenance in the coming months. I want the car to be near flawless...regardless of how much time I spend in labor or parts...I want it to feel like no other e46. Where should I start? Thermo, all gaskets, expansion tank, cvv, mafs have been replaced so far. Car currently has 106k. I want it to feel more “stiff” and less sloppy ( if that even makes sense ). Bushings? Suspension? Trans or shifting links? Any recommendations would be great as the list will be pretty long. Cheers!!!
