Finish the damage repair.

Finished installing my K&N CAI and effected various repairs to plastic fitting, vacuum hose, and rubber parts. Can't wait until Spring to test it.
Wrap the silver interior trims as they won't look good with my 2-ton interior plan. The PO already started on them with the CF so I finish the rest.

Bought it (#3 for the stable). Now I have a stick I can drive through the winter--filled a gaping hole in my life.

Changed out the center cup-holders to the roller-type bin--much cleaner look. Given the 45deg heat wave, I also washed it (too bad it won't stay that way once I take it on the road).

Today, I tore into the engine bay and replaced the air intake filter (pretty dirty) with a K&N panel filter I had on hand. In the process of doing that and giving it a bit of wipedown and inspection, I noticed that the serpentine belt was worn badly--could've gone at any time. Fortunately, I had a spare left over from a recent installation of over-sized pulleys on my ZHP, so I installed that. I also noticed I need to change my tensioners and idler pulleys. I also applied some rust converter to a few spots that needed it.

Covered the steering wheel in my 330xi 6MT with a "Wheelskins" leather cover--looks and feels GREAT! I did it, because there was a small wear spot on the wheel, but I thought the OE steering wheel to be a bit thin for my taste. This is much better... gonna get another one for my other xi--probably perforated this time.

I have a multitude of small spots in the clearcoat--hood, roof, and trunk. Something, maybe sap, got on it. I'm going to get a quote in the spring to have it fixed. I have bad dreams about what it'll cost...
Gulp... I'm hoping it's all in the clearcoat.
Listed mine for sale. Can't stand this BS!

Realized a little while ago that I'm probably not going to get to putting a new engine in my daughter's 330i anytime soon, so decided to buy something else to get my truck back from her.
Decided to go with a 2000 323i Touring. Has some miles on it, but comes with huge stack of receipts dating back to early 2000s, including tranny rebuild due to no reverse. Seller was a BMW enthusiast who also has E36 M3.
Not exactly a rocket compared to the 330i, but it's going to be enough for my daughter. I should get it back for myself in a few months, anyway, when she buys the X3 she wants.

Picked up 4 e46 M3 front rims that I'm going to put on in the spring!

Installed a Bavsound Stage 1 speaker system in the 325i. Next, window regulators.
Had a tire bulge detected during inspection of my newly purchased 2005 330xi. Sucks because the tires were newish. The bright side is, they were so new I only needed to replace the one tire.
What did you do to/for your e46 today?
I washed it! It's been very rainy & cold (at least the snow is gone) here for a while now and today was the first day anyone would reasonably wash a car. The top also had a lot of pollen and dust on it so a light scrub with a soft bristle brush made it look like new again.
I was out of cleanser....so off to the Dollar Store I did go.

Got tired of my scratched and pitted windshield, so I got it replaced.
Yesterday, I got a damned SES light on my manual 330xi (recently purchased). Of course, I immediately thought "Here we go...". Well, I opened the hood today and, lo and behold, the oil filler cap was missing! Where was it you might ask? It was right where I put it a couple days ago on the front of the engine bay when I added a little oil. Anyway, I got out my Schwaben scan tool, cleared the faults, and the light has stayed off... so far. At any rate, that scan tool has paid for itself quick!
I began applying some plastic cleaner/conditioner to the interior but the rain started again and the exercise lasted about 2 minutes...next time then.
