I don't know what years but they are the style 72 wheels, if you are looking for a set for yourself I personally like the parallel spoke m wheels... I think they started making those in 03 or 04

Sorry for the double post my phone crashed in the middle of each one and indicated that neither one was made just for me to find out that they were both posted

No I love my Style 68s; I was just curious. New to the E46 platform so I'm gathering info.

Yes they are style 72. I chose them because I found a set cheap locally and they have the correct offset from the factory (47 front 50 rear). The tires are 225/40/18 front and rear and are less than a half an inch bigger in circumference when compared to stock so there is virtually no a difference in the speedometer. Because it's an AWD, I had to use the same size all the way around even though they are slightly staggered. And yes I measured the circumference and they are dead nuts the same. Any other ratio would have been too big of difference front to back and harm the AWD system. The date code on the wheels is 09/2002 so these were from a 2003 model year vehicle.

Also yesterday I replaced the passenger headlight assembly and polished the drivers side, then aimed them. An enormous improvement. The vanos is slowly breaking in and already makes the car drive way better. Throttle response, shifts, idle, and midrange power is greatly improved.

Tomorrow is the cooling system. New radiator, pump, hoses, and expansion tank. I replaced the thermostat last month.

Bought it for $4800 and have already spent $3k in parts to refresh everything. Its almost time to start enjoying it.

Sounds like you've done your homework on the wheels! Are there lowering options for the AWD E46s? 3/4" out of your car's ride height and it would sit perfect. I love your car's color, BTW. What is it?

I'm pretty comfortable with the ride height. It will sit a bit lower once the struts and mounts settle in (only 1500 miles since being replaced). The AWD's sit higher than the RWD models anyways for clearance and weight transfer.

The color is called graugrun metallic. I've only seen one other E46 in person with the same color.

Ha, its already snowed once here and it handled the challenge perfectly with the old tires. We'll see how it does with the new tires. The reason for switching wheels and tires was because the all 4 of the original wheels were bent!

I plan on keeping this one for a while.

My old 540i/6 settled in after a mile or two when I replaced the shocks with Koni yellows and refreshed the spring pads and all that...

I plan on keeping this one for a while.

You know I really should start one to at least document what has been done.

Yeah I would never lower my 330ci, it scrapes enough already, maybe a sway bar or two to stiffen things up... Maybe if I lived in well paved and smooth driveway suburbia... Waiting to get the car back from the dealer with a list of diag and updated DME software... God I hate dealers, all I know is that car better run as good or better than when I took it there, I made it clear I was not having them repair anything they found wrong on the diag, I just wanted the comprehensive list from a dealer inspection to get my wish list / priority list in order... And the DME software update... And somehow after dropping off this morning at 10am I'm not getting it back until tomorow... I hate that... I remember why I hate dealerships after they said the CAN bus needed 3.5 hours of extra diagnosis which is total BS, at 140$ per hour f that, I said update DME print list of diagnosis and send me on my way.., somehow that takes over 24 hours to return

I have the same color 330ci convert... I love the uniqueness and understated none "look at me" tone of it

That is a bit ridiculous. The DME itself only takes an hour and a half at the max. Did you have them update the EGS as well?

Suppose to be the DME / EGS software update... And that's the other thing about the dealership you never speak directly with the technician you always speak with some stupid service advisor who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground... And I guarantee when I go to pick it up I'm gonna have to ask to speak with the technician just to clarify what was done

Got back from the dealer with new DME update... It seems to be running like a champ however the gauge cluster is still wacky... See my "330 gauge cluster issues.." Thread if anyone has anything to say on that matter... Otherwise the car runs very well... And after all he dealership could try to find wrong with the car it was small potatoes... They quoted 4400$ which I would obviously never pay a dealership to do a job that would generally cost about a 10th of what they charge I'm sure I could probably get all the work done they recommended whether it's necessary or not for about five to $600... Anyway that was really good to hear after asking a dealership for a full diagnosis and they pretty much found nothing you wouldn't expect like worn out engine mounts and what not... Sway bar links Etc...

Last evening I attempted to replace the radiator, water pump, expansion tank, and upper/lower hoses on the 325. The engine thermostat was replaced last month. I say attempted because I'm currently in a holding pattern until a new trans thermostat gets delivered tomorrow. It just fell apart when the expansion tank was removed. Other than that there were no issues. The radiator cooling fins were pretty dirty and so was the AC condenser.

The entire cooling was original when I purchased it at 137k... The expansion tank was slightly bulged but the water pump and hoses were in good shape. The main reason for the overhaul was because the radiator started to leak. Didn't take any pics because it was dark.

Consider yourself lucky you have records! I got absolutely nothing with my purchase. But then I feel fortunate if I get two keys and an owner's manual in the glovebox when I buy a car these days... (I did this time around).

My 330i's windshield was replaced yesterday. The crack was huge; I'm surprised the old unit didn't fall apart (it would flex under light pressure). Nice not to have to worry about leaks with rain on the way tomorrow.

Finished the cooling system today and changed out the timing chain tensioner spring. For anyone who hasn't done this on your 70k+ mile E46, do it. The spring and washer is cheap ($6) and the replacement is not very hard to do (10min). The reason for doing this is as you can see in the picture, the spring on the bottom has compressed about 1/4in when compared to a new spring. The theory is that the old spring no longer provides adequate pressure on the timing chain guard and can cause a slight ticking noise. There are serveral DIY's on this procedure.

Got my new License plate Put on along with an LED LP light to balance out the LED light on the other side that is a retrofitted reverse camera/LP light combo unit... It was halogen ~2500 Kelvin on the right, LED ~6000 kelvin on the left, with a dealer temp tag from the ford dealership I bought it from so... A) doesn't look lopsided light wise any more(~6000K on both LPs) 6000K fogs and Low beams done a couple weeks ago, and, B) not representing Ford on the back of a BM... Looking good, running great... Next thing will be motor mounts and sway bar links...

Just ordered my new style 68 staggered 17 inch sport wheels for my 330 CI non-sport automatic... It has style 79 wheels on it now which I don't mind but they're only 205 width all around and I really like my style 66 wheels on my 540, and I think the style 68's are a good equivalent for the 330 looks wise, being 245 in the rear and 225 in the front...

Nice! I love love love my Style 68s. They look very muscular, IMO, and complement the E46's lines perfectly. The 245s in the rear especially look nice and wide.

I'm going to suggest using Moog problem solver sway bar end links from rockauto. I ordered them for my XI and they have grease fittings for easy service. Not sure if the coupe/rwd version has the fittings but its worth a shot.

Added STP to my oil,yesterday... I usually use seafoam, but Walmart was out, and I read some good things about STP motor OL treatment, my 330 needs some detergent attention and oil flushing done to the engine as it has a good amount of sludge in it from what I can tell... I'm gonna probly suck it out tomorrow, after a good hot ride, with my bavauto oil extractor... I ordered new: front sway bar links (Lemfφrder), motor mounts (Lemfφrder), coolant temp sensors, Brembo brake pads for front and back, custom floor mats with custom embroidery, new oil pan gasket, trans pan gasket, purolator oil filter, bought 10 quarts (2x5)of euro Castrol 0w-40 for 50$ at Walmart... The overhaul has begun... I still wanna find some 05 style LeD tail lights to swap in if rhats even possible... See my "LED tail light compatibility" thread...
