I was running 225/45r17s on a e46 328i with TMS adjustable rear arms (-.5 camber) on Kuhmo Ecstas and it broke loose well. I was running them at 50psi cold though. I would never drop below BC racing on coils, or Fortunes if you want to spend a bit more. I have no issues with my BCs though. Are you running a drift specific alignment? That can help a bit as well. Running no sways solved all my understeer problems.
I'm running a 1/4" of toe. There's not really any other adjustment in the front end with stock parts. I have not moved anything in the rear.
