Jeez, that is way too much money for an E39 that doesn't have a manual nor an S62... all that hoopla over a glorified appearance package.

Your current situation is not your final destination
Just the typical BAT E39 surge pricing. Car's worth half that, maybe.

I can't see myself at this moment in time every spending 24k on a e39,but if thats what people want to do.Good for them.
This is good for any owner with a clean low mileage e39. Not saying they will get 24k but it can bump the needle upward.
Agreed, high mileage cars are at the lower end of the scale and would see very little if any benefit from such a sale.
I just can't imagine paying so much for low mileage, especially given how much I drive. If I bought a $24k 540it M-Sport with like 60k miles I'd pretty much cut its value in half in like a year or so because I drive like 30k miles per year. I guess the people who pay so much for low mileage do so with the intent to keep the miles low? Otherwise it's kind of a waste of money, especially since low mileage does not guarantee reliability at this age.

Psssst, Danny.... Has it ever occurred to you that other people on this planet don't have the same viewpoint as you do? Has it ever occurred to you that maybe some other people on this planet would like to own, and drive a pristine, low mileage E39 and enjoy it for what it is? Has it ever occurred to you that other people on this planet may not really consider $24,000 to be a lot of money? Has it ever occurred to you that some people on this planet would dish out a crapload more money than $24,000 on a car, and drive the balls off of it, enjoy it, and not give ten craps about stacking up the miles, not giving eleven poops about depreciation? Has it occurred to you that I slept at a Holiday Inn last night, and woke up this morning seeing all this bs much clearer than ever? Has it ever occurred to you that the toilet at the Holiday Inn flushes with much more gusto than the one that I have at home???
This is what makes the world go round, man. It's a huge a$$ world out there, and others are living in it. I'm like you when it comes to picking these diseased E39 specimens, I like to wrench on them, and make them mine, others, I may not have as much respect for their kind, would just like to buy them, already wrenched on. Kinda like at the Cars And Coffee gatherings. I really appreciate meeting the guys that talk about the car, how they found it, condition it was in, and the work it took to get it back to that point. I respect that. The car has a story. But then you also meet the ones that just plunk'd down a bunch of cash for a car that some body else bled over, getting it to that point, and in 5 seconds, I know the person doesn't really know the car, to me, that car isn't as cool as it could have been, if I had met the guy that wrenched on it. But.... at least, somebody is out there enjoying the car, or what ever it is.
Same thing at the flying fields for rc airplanes and helicopters. I had no respect for the farts that paid for a built plane or heli, as soon as they have an issue with them, they didn't know what to do, then bother you on your day to enjoy.... and sometimes crash your cool toys. But I would still help them out, I like to teach, so I would, some would watch, and listen, try to learn, while others, would get you to help, then not bother to pay attention, as soon as I see how they are, I'd say screw them, drop what I was doing and walk away. I despise that kind of attitude. But it is just how some people are.

Last year a member here sold his 6-speed swapped touring for about half that lol
Good for the seller, though. If he can get $15k for that then maybe I’ll be able to pull two, may three, times scrap value for mine.
