Why not just grind on the compressor cover? Just don't want to grind on a new part? The s300 covers are definitely huge but I didn't realize the s256 cover was so tiny! Looks like a gt30

Just don't want to grind a new part lol plus I don't know how thick the cover is and I'm not really confident that grinding it alone would get me the room need. The rib that it is hitting is like 1/4" and I think that that is about how much room I need.

And yes the 256 looks ridiculous next to the 366 lol.

Not even the skinnier part of the comp cover fits better?

This is how I had my hx40.

Not enough room with the runners on my manifold to clock the turbo like that.

It looks to me like there is roughly a 1/4" gap between the engine side of the turbo flange to manifold flange. Pretty optimistic that if I grind the rib down flush it will fit. If not I bet I could drill the 4 holes on the turbo flange out 1/32" and that should give me enough wiggle room. And last resort I can take off ~1/8" off the compressor cover.
holy fuck thats a big bastard.

Vollosso in case you are reading this, regarding my "clunking, " you were right. It wasn't the trans. Two of my flex disc bolts were super loose. Kinda scary. Must be my fault last time I had the trans out.... at least it's simple!

Holy cow. Didnt realize the size difference was so big!

Pete, you have the S200. The S200sx turbos have a different comp cover.

The guibo (giubo) bolts/nuts are suppose to be a one time use only.

I've reused mine many times as well but they are a stretch bolt with crimp style lock nuts. I bought new ones for this time around.

    Hey guys,
Who has replaced the heat shield crap in the trans tunnel with something other than OE?

Since my engine is still in I was thinking I could get a knife and cut the insulation at the firewall and then replace with something from there all the way down the trans tunnel. Any suggestions that will be A)durable , B) insulate cabin from heat /noise

DEI fiberglass reflective heat tape or sheeting. Works great. Mine has been in place since 2010.
