Fuck me I don't want to tear it apart..
I read the post. Fwiw I AM able to get the tensioner threaded all the way in and torque it to spec.
Does this sound like your situation butters?
Without the tensioner in there is slack in the chain.
When you install the tensioner with thicker hg will it rotate the sprocket so the holes are centered?
When I had that issue, I could barley get the chain on. It was super tight. Did you ever take the sprocket off ? But I was able to get the tensioner in if I forced it. A thick HG really doesn't change it much. If your having problems with the chain, well you gotta find it. Sucks, but oil chain will need to come off as well.

I bought the engine already assembled.. I have no idea if the machinist removed it or not :/
I know and I already red loctited the oil pump nut :/
Will it fuck up the hg/spacer when I remove the timing cover?
Ugh

So I pulled everything apart and the sprocket was installed correctly on the crankshaft.
I decided to reinstall the old chain for fun and it wasn't much better. A bit more slack but not much. When I install the primary exhaust sprocket with the holes biased to the left and then install tensioner they are still biased almost completely left.
Is this a problem??

Texted them to you
Made a bit of progress the past few days..
Gotta thank Vollosso SO much for tig welding my 10an fitting in my oil pan, 90 outlet on turbo and intercooler bungs. Much appreciation
So head is on and torqued, cams are in at TDC, oil pan is on, turbo manifold is on, wastegate is on.
Turbo compressor housing is loose so this is not its final orientation
Here is me mocking up the wastegate reference. I am using 1/4" hard line with compression fittings. This should eliminate the need to worry about heat melting a wg line. Also, this will be one of the shortest wg reference lines ever. Probably 8" or less. Going to tap the top of my compressor housing and stick it right there on top.
Would be even further along, except of course I had to drop the upper chain guide .... and of course it shattered. So I am waiting on that before I can finish putting the engine together,
Also, this turbo sits super high up, so oil drain should be efficient. Cant tell from the pictures but theres gotta be damn near 10" between the turbo drain and the oil pan fitting.

Getting closer! Love where this is heading! Looks like you're gonna have a fun time fitting that turbo and manifold into the car lol.

Yeah it's gonna suck. I put the engine in the car a few days ago to test fit. Clears the frame rail. I don't know how much bigger the compressor housing is on an s3xx but it would obviously clear the engine by a mile which is the issue people with spa manifolds have. Not sure about the frame rail. Possibly with a spacer? Which I don't think would be a problem, this turbo sits ridiculously high up. Oil drain flange on turbo is almost a foot away from fitting on oil pan which is several inches above the drain plug, so I could afford to drop the turbo an inch or two and still have very adequate oil drain I bet. But I'm getting ahead of myself, just getting super impatient at this point. I wanted this engine in a week ago and now it's looking like it will be at least a week from now, possibly more. But good news is that once the engine goes in I will probably be able to start it within a few days. Hot side charge piping will need to be made which should take me an easy hour or two, various vac lines will get hooked up, small shit. Getting close, but getting very impatient and eager to have boosties.
turbine housing size? on a TS manifold?

looking good. I didn't see it listed (maybe I missed it) but what turbine housing size did you run on the S200sx?

I am a big Borg fan...and a GT30R hater. The 30R is a horribly mismatched compressor/turbine wheel (especially the 3076). It is not good on a 4-cylinder much less an inline 6, especially on knock limited fuel. The S200sx/S256 definitely closer to a 35R in performance than a 30R as long as it is executed correctly.

4 different turbo cars/1 BB chevy/1 all motor+nitrous...7 different turbos, 4 different intercoolers, 6 different EMS systems etc etc. Looking to play E36 on boost.
When looking at the compressor maps of a s256sx over laid a 35r's , yes, it looks like the s256 s much more comparable to it then a 30r.
Got the standard 1.22ar exhaust housing.
