Mine wasn't "professionally" ported. I spent 10+ hours like das boots does. But yeah, it was. Its all back up and running. The screw must have been in the M50 manifold I bought off some kid. The funny thing is, it had to be in there for months. Then decided to come out and take my moneys.

I had something like that happen on a fresh rebuild I did on a Jeep engine recently, but in my case it was truly all my fault. I bought the vehicle with a blown up engine, found out it was missing a piston, rebuilt it all (bottom end) and when I started it up it sucked pieces of ring into the engine from the intake manifold that I didn't clean out...
The guy at the sprint car shop I took the intake to for cleaning (afterward) said something like, "Oh yeah, when you lose a piston the blow all sorts of stuff back up into the intake.."
Maybe it hurts more when it is all your own fault like that or maybe it doesn't, but lesson learned. I'm going to try to learn the easy way from your deal by always cleaning out ANY used intake manifold before I use it.

I cleaned it out, blew it out.
It must have been wedged in there somewhere. Like really wedged. Then at the dragstrip it sucked it up

Yeah, really..
At least its fixable, and since I do my own paint work I should be able to get all this fixed , including paint, for <$400. If insurance gives me $1500, I can hopefully pocket $1000 and move on...
I don't know how much a body shop will estimate for this, but I bet its going to be north of $1k, maybe even close to $2k..
If I do get to pocket that kind of money, I will buy a gopro so I can finally get vids for yall

Cause I probably already messed up my engine from doing endless 20 psi pulls in 100+ degree weather from a 56mm turbo? Meth scares me, so many parts to fail... But I either need meth, E85, or a bigger turbo. Or a combination...
Or, shoulda put the meth in long ago. I wouldn't be worrying about that 20 points that cylinder is down. I'd have fun with it, and monitor it once a month. Time for you to have a built motor anyway. Slowly build one up. In the mean time, get a meth kit in there. They are pretty simple by design, your not 100% relying on it like some of us. Just cooling the charge and keeping knock down. Also, probably should have Zack write your DME.

Zack doesn't do OBD1.
Im about to get an m52. Gonna build that with my spare s52 crank.
Would I need to tune for the meth? I don't want to run any additional timing or anything. I really would just want it as a safety net..
No tune, just add a little meth.
Start with a 300-500cc jet. Mix 50/50 by weight and your basically at 100 octane when in boost.

I run meth just for safety though I have run more boost with it than I would without it. I'd stick to about 20-22 without it. I have run 24 with it and would consider 25. It might support more but I worry even with a good system. If I had E85 local, I would lean that way but people still suffer fuel pump or line or injector failures. Might buy an afr gauge with failsafe to go with the meth controller failsafe.
so u just use a shop scale like the ones u might put under each wheel? Or? Not that I'm mixing methanol just curious how u can easily mix by weight and not volume on a larger scale pun intended... And u mean 50/50 H20 and CH3OH ? Not gasoline ? Just trying to educate muh self

So looked at the m3 a bit more and it turns out the radiator support is f***ed too. Bent up against the radiator.... keeps getting better
I was hooking up with a girl I knew and also hooking her up with some grass for her spring break trip. She backed into my bimmer with her bimmer (lol) as she was leaving my apartment. She only hit the passenger side front fender, like where the turn signal is. Damage didnt look too bad to me. Body shop charged $1800 to fix it, and her parents paid for it. Was pretty sweet. Im sure youll get quoted like $2k for your whole front
They wrote my car off for this lol.
