What manifold are you running again? I thought you changed it since the beginning of the build but was top lazy to read through the whole thread to find it lol

Mannnnn I love this car...
Down go the new 5.0's!
Had another encounter with a very new(not sure exactly what year) 5.0. Don't know the deal with this one, but it was a 6 spd, had some nasty looking tires, and had one of the loudest and nicest sounding exhausts ive ever heard. Only did one pull due to traffic, but he got the hit at about 60 but as soon as I hit boost I started pulling and when we shut down at 120 I was a couple cars ahead. Cool guy and sweet mustang!
Still at 11 psi.
The other day I was getting a bit burnt out with this car, was thinking about parting it out and starting something new. But after a few long drives of just beating on the m3 relentlessly, it reminded me why I love it. Too much fun.
Put about 1500 miles on the car since turbo. So I think we can call it a successful build(tentatively).
Today I did a compression test with the engine semi-cool(driven about 3 hours prior) and the results of the 9.0:1 s52 with 1500 miles
1. 180 psi
2. 180 psi
3. 175 psi
4. 180 psi
5. 175 psi
6. 178 psi
Not sure what you guys with low comp. s52s are seeing, but do these sound solid? I was very happy with the numbers and consistency. My 11.0:1 CR s52 was 210-220psi across all 6.

Well done Raji!
Any idea how much power your are making now? Me thinks 400HP - 450HP At the Crank?
Up the boost to 15PSI! Go on! You know you want to!
"So we've come to the conclusion that BMW just has parts laying around they decide to throw on cars for no reason."
Interest on a Very Budget Supercharger Build??
Thanks man
Im not sure on power honestly, If I had to bet I would say less than 400whp. Maybe someone with more experience could make a more accurate guess based on my set up.
I do want to turn it up! Hopefully before I run the procharged Roush next weekend I will be at 15psi. I think at 15 psi I should be well into the 400s.
Can I see some latest pics of your engine bay?
I wanted to see the size of the pod filter you are using, just curious since I recently bought a small slim line 6 inch tall and 4 inch base one :P

Going to swap my s50 oil pan onto my s52 soon. I don't like the OBD2 dipstick not being secured, I think its why the dipstick is leaking, and the plugged return bothers me. I also like how on the s50 oil pan, the hole for the dipstick is recessed pretty deep into the oil pan while the s52's dip stick basically sits on top of the oil pan.
Never done oil pan gasket in car before.
Is it basically this;
Unbolt control arms from chassis and wheel hub
Unbolt and lower steering rack
Support engine
Unbolt motor mounts
Remove four bolts holding subframe
Remove oil pan

You should vent the return on the dip stick, not plug it. You can secure the dip stick by making a bracket and mounting to bottom of manifold.

You want as many vents as possible. Or you can have drain/oiling problems.

OBD2 pan is fine. Dipstick tube must be pushed in so the oring seats and you should make a bracket to connect the intake manifold to the OBD2 tube flange.
This is basically the process. Having done it twice on e36s it is doable for sure, but man does it suck laying underneath the engine while oil is dripping off the rotating assembly onto you the entire time.
I would do what everyone else is saying and secure the top of the dip stick just to avoid having to drop the pan.
Meh stick a new oring on it and hammer that dipstick tube down in. You wont break it. Its probably just not in far enough

Started making an underpanel today. Not interested in spending $200 on a sheet of aluminum, but I'm sick of not having one. I'm making mine extend past the oe lip, as a splitter that won't get ripped off when I bottom out.
Still have to make a baffle for the radiator, some frame rail brackets, bolt it to the bumper, and smooth out the rough edges. And paint.
Maybe I'll add some angle to stiffen it up. It isn't perfect , but for a few $$$ and a few hours of time I'm happy enough.

Does an obd2 dipstick tube fit? Or weld a stem on yours. But drill a 1/4 inch hole through the tube near the top of the part that is inside the tank to help it vent.
Obd2 does not fit obd1 pan.
If you get any crank pressure it can squirt oil out of the dipstick tube "aux port". Be careful.
